I went to this overpriced store in search of a good walking sneaker. After the sales person lied and told me that I was getting the best shoe for diabetics, I gave them $100.00 down on the sneakers (full price = $328.00). On the week that I was to pick up the sneakers that they were holding, I got sick at work and suffered Heart Failure and a Mild Heart Attack. After being released from ICU at Moses Cone Hospital, approx. 2 weeks later, I phone their store explained my health issues and advised them that my insurance would not pay for the shoes that I had planned to purchase, as they are NOT good quality sneakers for a diabetic and also informed them that my Cardiologist did not reccomment purchasing shoes from them. I asked for my money back as the receipt they gave me DOES NOT SAY THAT NO REFUND WILL BE GIVEN. The management at this store has argued with me; refuses to give me back my money, and also refuses to give me the sneakers. It speaks volumes about the Shoe Market when they will argue and fight with a sick person over $100.00. I have filed complaints with the BBB, the NC Secretary of State, the FTC etc., all in an effort to try and get my money back from these thieves. Plse. help spread the word to tell people to AVOID the Shoe Market, and to tell everyone they know that this is how this establishment treats people. What would make them think that I would just let them keep $100.00 is beyond my comprehension. Evidently, they feel that they are that special.

I have had two pair of expensive shoes from the shoe market in Greensboro NYC that were not as sold. One pair was over $300 and the other over $200. One was a metallic color leather and the color came off after a short time of wear. The other pair were men's flip flop that just decenegrated! Returned both to the store and absolutely nothing was done for me.

If they kept your shoes, then they STOLE them. You can definately take them to small claims court for your refund...plus money for time, effort, and harassment. You can sue for a total of $5, 000.00 in small claims court...and I would do just that.
