I’ve been with these guys (and girls?) from the beginning. I purchased the pro version/upgrade to have unlimited recordings a long, long time ago. There are developers out there who push out new apps with each iOS upgrade and or abandon apps completely and create new ones so they can support a subscription pay model.

I really, REALLY appreciate how the developers treat their loyal customers. I really appreciate how they have stuck with the original app and built on it - while honoring the promises they made to people who stuck with them years ago. It means a lot to me to know that my purchase made so many years ago is still upheld by them. I hardly use this app - truly I should be using it a LOT more. But when I do use it, I am so thankful about how reliable, easy and efficient this app is. Especially because it uses services to make it all happen. No the app doesn’t do it all. They have to pay to upkeep a service that does the magic and hard work. The app is just a pretty way to make it easy for us to use. The app itself doesn’t do the recording. So I appreciate that, despite fluctuating expenses, the company still honors their commitment to their long time customers and maintaining that truly unlimited recording feature we paid for. I would like to suggest adding a donate feature. I personally hate subscription models. But I would like to “tip” a little just to show my appreciation. Especially since there aren’t any ads, no annoying gimmicks or even any selling of info to 3rd parties. I like that it’s a pretty pure and simple app. It hasn’t changed and has always remained clean, simple and hasn’t compromised quality at all.

What I like about the app itself?
1) the ability to turn off/on the beeping
2) the ease of using the app
3) the tutorial (because when you don’t use this for months at a time, you forget how to use this gem)
4) the ability to upload your recordings into Evernote and Dropbox
5) the ability to store recordings onto your phone and label them

What benefit this app has given me that I didn’t expect?
I know people use these sometimes out of necessity (like protecting themselves from a stalker or abusive ex). Or because their jobs are so confidential they require recorded conversations. But I like this phone because it allows me to capture memories with relatives and families. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard such sweet, rare and life-altering words come from the mouths of my family and friends. Words I wish I could cherish forever. Stories you’d never hear ever again. Jokes and moments when people open up. And when those people disappear from the earth and move on...it’s so nice to have these, well, relics of the past. Of them. And of that genuine life advice. Or moment when they dropped their guard and sounded human for just a few seconds. The app/service is really a great concept. And yeah, ironic because it’s a recording app. But... it can be used for good. Thank you for maintaining such a reliable service and honoring old policies. No matter how many times I may upgrade my phone or update my operating system, it’s so so SO relieving to know, I will still have my original purchase honored and have reliable service. I hope this stays around for a long time. Put in a donate/tip option in the settings menu. Keep keeping this app simple ;)
