Beware of wolfs in sheep clothing   (Suin construction company Owner: Marco Suin)

 3343 W. 51st Chicago IL 60632

I wanted to share my personal experience with Marco the owner of Sun Construction Company. I have had work completed by other contractors in the past, but I have to rank this as my worst experience. I was referred by my realtor because I needed some painting, drywall, cabinets installed, etc., completed in my basement.  At the beginning, he seemed to present himself as a decent guy. No major problems until we got towards the end of the project. Against my better judgment, I decided in good faith to pay him the remaining amount that was owed to him in hopes that he would complete the job correctly. Boy what a mistake that was. On the last day, my wife and I were working, so we were unable to conduct a final walk through with Marco. While conducting the final walkthrough after making it home, my wife and I noticed several noticeable incomplete areas that were not properly finished.  There were noticeable small holes in the ceiling which were not there before the work began, partially painted areas over the doorways, paint on the ceiling, and light fixtures that were not properly hung. I took pics of everything and notified Marco of what needed to be corrected.  He agreed to come back and take a look. He arrive back on a Saturday and we conducted a walk through. While showing him the areas where he got a noticeable amount of paint on the ceiling, he had the audacity to ask me, “Did you do that?” I replied, “Marco, why would I correct your mistakes when I paid you for that!” Everything else he acknowledged as mistakes he made and agreed to come back and fix them. Little did I know that that would be the last time I would see Marco. On three separate occasions via phone text and conversations, Marco promised to come back and fix everything he missed up, but he never did. After getting tired of his shenanigans, I sent him a text message for a fourth time, but this time I included my realtor who referred me to him. Less than a minute later I received a call from a pissed off Marco asking me why did I included my realtor in the text because she sends out referrals for his company.   I explained to him that if he had completed the work properly the first time and kept his word to come back and fix his mistakes as promised, I would not have had to include her in the text. Still trying to shift the blame to me, Marco then had the nerve to ask me for no apparent reason, “Do you have education?” I explained to him that that random comment was asinine and very unprofessional. After not trusting him in my home, I told him that he was no longer welcomed in my house. Be careful of paying someone for a job before you conduct a final walk through. I know that no job is perfect, but because of Marco’s unprofessional behavior and sloppy work, I now have to pay someone else to fix his mistakes. Beware!

Country of complaint: United States

Desired outcome: Partial refund for unfinished sloppy work and a apology for his unprofessoralism and insulting comments.
