10/15/2022 Saturday, about 11:50pm. went to check-in window at named motel above and rung bell; old asian lady came to window and came out of door. The place reeked of mold and mildew. She sounded senile based on our conversation and went to get help with the debit card transaction machine. Another lady appeared named John to assist with transaction. Completed and receipts given to me for $77.92 and $10.00 for key deposit in case customer doesn't return key. The motel did look shabby-looking, but I assumed the room would be clean, comfortable and safe inside. What I found was so appalling, deplorable, unsafe, unhealty and unbelievable! It was plainly noticeable - bedbugs, soiled and stained sheets when I pulled them back. Pillows torn and soiled, lamp shade raggedy, no curtains, dead bug on floor, nothing working including TV and filthy refridgerator. Disgusting stench of mold and mildew. This a health hazard! I went back to motel office and peeked inside the window and saw the old lady sleeping in what looked like the city dumping yard! OMG! she spoke to me once again through the window and I told her the rooms situation and I wanted a full refund, so she said to come back tomorrow for refund. I told her I can't stay in this place tonight, I'm going back home in North Jersey, she closed window. I left. I called today and John asked the phone; no announcement of motel name, her name or good morning, and I explained situation to her and she said she will check with housekeeping but I told her this is not a housekeeping issue, but a health, safety and property issue. She continued to ignore my questions with disbelief and even refused to tell me who I was speaking with. but I remembered her voice from earlier. She told me that the asian lady said I didn't give it back to her. I said yes I did because I told pictures of the room and me giving her the keys back. She brushed me off and talked over me and said I can get $30.00 back since I cancelled, but I didn't cancel. The place was uninhabitable. I hung up. But I wasn't going to give up and that's why I'm notifying this office.
