I bought the Stauer compass '33 watch 10 months ago. The 24 hour dial fell off and jammed the watch. It keeps the second hand locked up. I called their customer service dept. told them of the problem. They said the manufacturer only covers the mechanism if the watch will not run. I told Stauer that I expected them to repair the problem. They said they only warranty the watch for 30 days. I said I did not cause the problem with the watch, it was defective from the start. There was no way that anyone could cause the problem. The watch is a piece of junk and that is why there is no warranty. I have never received any warranty or guarantee from the company. They want me to ship the watch back at my expense and pay $30-$50. to repair the problem.

I have a Stauer Atomic Watch, Model# 15442. Stopped receiving signal, and the button needed to resetting does not respond. It is out of warranty. Stauer does not offer repair services and does not provide information as to the availability of other companies. I tried to find some on the internet nationwide, but with no success. Stauer says no other customer had this problem before. (very unlikely and worthy of 4 Pinocchios)
I recommend for all to stay away from Stauer merchandise.

A bait and switch scam company: they incentivize with a promo of "free pendant" then ask you to either pay outrageous price for a chain and/or inflated shipping and handling prices. Stay away...

Just got a call from a collection agency after a year of aggravating attempts to reason with Stauer and when they finally underpaid me a refund as they refused to refund shipping my Mastercard took my side. I said take me to court to the collection [censor] who said "who is your lawyer?". I said I do not need a lawyer and the [censor] said I cannot represent myself. Its a long story with Stauer-but in a nutshell after four to six months of complaining before they credited my Master Card but did not include shipping which infuriated me. after the hours of phone calls I offered fifty dollars and would have paid seventy five, but they wanted the entire one hundred and twenty eight dollars forcing me to eat the shipping for an automatic watch that never worked. I guess they play the averages. Stauer after almost three months of haggling said it would take another sixty days to process a refund that they have their rules. Surprise two can pay that game and I wanted my shipping cost refund in full despite what their fine print said after all the hassle they caused me. Needless to say I told the collection agency to go to hell if they did not want to split the difference. I thank Master Card who gave me good advice, or like most of you I would have been hung out to dry. Stay away from Stauer like they are poison, they know the majority of their customers are chumps and will give up. Their small print warranty says it all. Caveat emptor.

Hi I bought a watch from stauer after being saturated with their catalogs in the mail.Finnally I took a look to see what they had.You would have to believe it was the best watch in the world the way they decribed them.So I decided to take a chance and order one.I recieved it in the mail, opened it up.I took a look, not to bad, but didn't resemble the one in the catalog I looked at by far, hmmm ol well.Hopefully it will at least function well .After all I had a timex that lasted 20 yrs with no problem., I didn't wear it right away, so I put it away for later use.Weeks later I decided to put it on and wear it on a night out on the town.I put the watch on, it had a leather strap.I do have a large wrist, but managed to get it fastened on the last couple holes. It looked ok.So off I went and not paying to much attension to it.Later that night I happened to look down and realized it about to fall off.Itook a look at it only to find that the clasp at the end of the strap had fallen off completlly and no way to secure it to my wrist.I'm thinking to my self, what a piece a junk, you're got to be kidding me.Thank god I looked down, or else I.would have lost it all together .When monday came around I called there office.I told them what happened., only to be told its out of warranty and nothing could be done. I mean I just bought this piece of junk not to long ago, I finnaly put it on only to have it break. What a joke, you're got to be kidding me.If Idid sent it back I'd have to pay them.Plus a high shipping bill. You would think that after what I've been through, they would jump at a chance to help me.Hell no, you bought it so to bad.Me personally I would have done everything in my power to resolve this embarrissing problem, as to help this poor customer. Not sure what to do now, it just leaves me with a pissed off feeling.GOOD LUCK IF BUY ONE.Not a happy customer for sure

Purchased 1921 Morgan Silver Dollar watch. Three jewellers refused to take back off when battery died-told the forth forget the damage. Back was almost impossible to remove--now battery install BUt back cannot be put back on as now it too large. Very disappointed and anger and looking to Stauer for solace.

I have the same issue as StanBeran, the digital part works fine, the analog quit. I contacted Stauer and was told there are 2 batteries inside this watch, and that there is "some" dismantling that needs to be done to replace the second battery! Amazing. They wanted 39 dollars, plus shipping, to replace the batteries. I only paid 39 dollars for the watch, and that included shipping, as I recall.
So now it's just taking up space in a drawer, although I do like the look and feel of it.

I almost forgot. If I didn't make it clear, the analogue side of the watch isn't working at all at this point, just the digital.

About a year ago I found a watch for sale on Craig's List. I talked to the guy and drove across town to look at it. It looked nice and after some haggling I got it for $45. It's a Stauer Hybrid Compendium(?). Being an estate item, I took the guy at his word about what his friend had paid for it. It looked well worth the money though I hadn't heard the name 'Stauer' before. I wore the watch for over a year before having any issues. It worked perfectly. Then it began to run slow and the analogue hands would stop occasionally, so I assumed it was the battery. I unsuccessfully tried to get the back off to replace it, so I tossed it in a drawer until I got around to it. I took it out today and realized that the digital time still operated perfectly. The indigo back light seems a little dull but other than that and the mechanical hands it seems ok. Reading your comments here, I'm afraid to attempt opening the back as it may not go back on properly. I suppose for now I will just wear it as is until I can pick up another watch.

Purchased a brand new Stauer model 13373. Immediately I liked the look, received many compliments. Set the time and enjoyed it. And when I started tinkering with it I noticed the the flimsy button that controls the daynof the month it is does not work. Not a huge problem just frustrating. Nice exterior with [censored] for guts. Still compliments the wrist though (from a distance or for a novice).

Will be glad to hear suggestions on how to get the day dial working. As then I'd consider it a true bang for the buck!

I, as is anyone working for a living now days looking for incentives to buy a product from a company vs. another company. A co- worker told me about the latest and greatest "deal" from Stauer and I have been trying to capitalize on it for over an hour to receive any and all free products and/or shipping... on top of purchase a sterling silver chain for my son for a medallion I bought him and a watch for my husband. I cannot get past the initial information! My goal was close the deal and be in bed by 10:00p.m. CST and as I write this, it is now 10:47 p.mp CST and Stauer.Com is still spooling! REALLY... There company and MSNBC should be ashamed for scamming hard working blue collar folks

I have a Graves 33 and a Regulator 7. I love both watches and wear one or the other daily. I have had the 33 for over 3 years and it keeps perfect time. I also have a Rolex Presidential and I get more positive comments about the Graves 33 than any other watch I own. I did order and received a Meisterzeit that was defective. You couldn't set the Day or Date. I returned it with free shipping from the label that comes with any purchase and had them cancel the order and send me the Regulator 7 instead.
I have had a problem with the speed of their shipping and with multiple items being on backorder . The Graves 33 is my favourite watch.

I ordered a Staurer Atomic glow in the dark watch. The bloody thing will not glow in the dark. Doesn't matter how dark I made the room. Last week the battery stop working. I replaced it then the bloody watch stop working. The watch-man couldnt even get the back of the watch back in place. Oh, it suppose to be an Atomic watch, but I tested it over and over and the Atomic function never works like the real Atomic clock I have on the wall. This Staurer Atomic Glow in the Dark watch is nothing more than another piece of JUNK the Chineese dumped on us. Please dont buy.

I have had a similar complaint with a mail order watch, supposedly German made. The crown was difficult to reset the time. I had to pull it so hard that the crown broke off! It was still under "warrenty" so I was instructed to send it to some watchmaker in Germany. He said, in so many words of his lousy ' English, that they don't cover crowns and that it was my fault--and if I wanted it fixed I have to send so much in Euros, not dollars! And they would not return the watch until I did. And if i didn't want it fixed I had to pay return shipment Euros. They still have this watch, which I bought for less than one hundred dollars. A word of caution about Trias Watches: you will hear more bad than good about them.
As for a Stauer Watch I own: its an automatic I have had for several years, but lately it is running way too fast--like two to three minutes a day fast. The warrenty is long ago expired, so I may take it to a watchmaker, I think the regulator needs adjusting or something like that.

I ordered a ring from Staure for my girlfriends birthday and our anniversary. It was ordered on Monday October 25 and still has not arrived on Friday November 6th. They said it would be delivered in 5 to 7 days and the shipping charge was $25. I called on Wednesday November 3rd and they said they had shipped on the 27th than I called again on Thursday November 5th and they said they shipped on the 28th. I'm skeptical they even shipped it that day because even the USPS deliveres faster than that. I asked why they delayed shipping in the first place and they said they waited for the credit card to clear. Come on I can clear a credit card myself instantly. What a joke, I hope their product is much better than their shipping. I guess I should have known better.

I have had the 33 for several years and several other Stauer watches. I love watches and have them for 6k to the $99.00 I paid for the 33. I had a home invastion robbery and the thief took my 33 and left my Rolex, he later said he thought it was a fake and the 33 looked expensive.

I get a ton of compliants on my Stauer watches and have never had a problem.

A stone fell out of an earring and they replaced it for free, right away, with free shipping for the exchange as well.

I had the same problem twice, hands fell off and reset buttons failed. I had to pay shipping twice from the UK to the USA...then the 3rd replacement stopped...lost patience and money on a cheap chinese made copy of a great designed watch. Be warned!
