Spruce power purchased the lease of Solar panels on my home in Aug. of 2020 since then the system has malfunctioned 3 times and total down time is 13 months and counting. There collections department calls and emails at least 4 times a month threatening negative reporting to credit bureaus which is not allowed per contract. They refuse to credit my account with the guaranteed production outlined in the contract. After searching online this is not an isolated incident but seems like company policy as hundreds of people are being taken advantage of. They even set up multiple companies to further hinder liability the 3 that I am aware of are Spruce Power, Energy service experts and Sunserve energy residential... Hold time is over an hour plus why bother when they refuse to address the issues. they do not respond to emails.
Country of complaint: United States
Website: sprucepower.com
Desired outcome: reimbursement for lost production per lease agreement and complete removal and repair to my roof so I no longer have Spruce or its subsidiaries harrassing me.
I also have the same problem with Spruce Power. I believe this is a planned scheme using the law of averages. That law of averages could translate to this. Spruce Power is acquiring a significant number of failing solar lease companies, rather than servicing them, based on the law of averages about leases holder canceling or buying out their leases. The buyout is a profit formula because they bought the accusations at a discounted price. They buy them out at a discounted price. They do not service the solar system due to the following problem. Most leases acquired by these companies are about 10 to 11 years old. The life expectancy of one component of the solar system is the string converter. They will fail without question within 5 to 10 years, in rare situations, 15 years. So do the math. Spruce has at this point 100,000 customers. With the average lease being 11 years old and the String converter failure formula looming in future costs to Spruce Power of 400 million dollars. They just signed an agreement to service ADT's now-defunct solar program. Not sure how much ADT is paying Spruce, perhaps if they choose not to live up to the service contract by not servicing the ADT account, milk it along as long as they can, and then disappear. In my view, it looks like a numbers game that will, in the end, leave all leases holding the bag. No one will service the holding of a leasing company. What can we do about this outright theft? A class action suit, perhaps, or just not paying them the lease amount ( if you can stand the heat), or threats to ruin your credit rating. Thats against the law. I am not recommending any of these approaches against Spruce Power. I am Just asking other Spruce Power customers about their experiences and opinions
