Southern dolls / southern ragdolls review: Sells sick kittens

We bought a beautiful bicolor ragdoll kitten in June of 2013. He was a very sweet and special boy. My 4 year old called him his best friend cat and was inseperable. When we got him he had a runny nose and two days later we took him to the vet. He was treated for an upper respiratory infection with antibiotics. This infection would seem to clear up and then come back. We treated it several times over the next few months and other than that or ragdoll, Gizmo, seemed to be a beautiful healthy boy. Around the middle of January we noticed that Gizmo wasn't as active as usual and his nose was running again so we took him to the vet. He had a fever and was treated for that and yet another respiratory infection. Over the next couple if weeks we returned to the vet two more times because he wasn't eating and was having trouble walking. Each time his fever had returned and was treated. Around feb 1st he seemed to be getting weaker so we took him to an emergency vet on Sunday. The immediately hooked him up to an IV and started treating him for another fever. He stayed on IV for the next two weeks while several veterinarians tried to figure out what was wrong. They even got his fever to stay down and he began taking food again but he still continues to get weaker. Finally it became to much and his little body shut down. We had an autopsy preformed and it was confirmed that he had FIP. Gizmo was an inside cat and was never around another cat from the moment we got him. We learned that FIP is genetic in more than 50 percent if cases as it can follow a bloodline. We also learned that southern dolls has had many complaints for selling kittens with FIP. Gizmo was the sweetest cat we have ever owned and our family is heartbroken. I wish that no one ever had to go through the emotional pain and financial loss that we went through due to this unethical breeder. They have a great we page and pretty pictures but make sure you research before making the mistake we did. We reported them To the Department of Agriculture and I pray they stop them from selling these poor little kitties.
