SmileMakeover, Playacar, Playa, del Carmen, Quintana Roo, Mexico review: Failure to refund

We are investigators looking into the activities of SmileMakeover in Playacar, Playa del Carmen, Mexico.

The company took money from our client's debit card for dental services and had promised to make a refund for services not delivered. After weeks of delay and promising that they had made the refund, the refund was never made.

Although, the payment was made in Mexico via a card machine, SmileMakeover, a lady in accounts called Jovana, insisted on making the refund via a foreign bank account.

The refund never got off the ground as the account number they used was wrong and subsequently, our client's bank confirmed that not only did it never get an attempted payment, but no money had been received.

Despite that, SmileMakeover is saying that they can only attempt the payment again once the money they "sent" is returned.

Classic "refund" scam.

They are also saying that they can't return the money in cash as the law say's they can't as it was paid via a debit card. They have refused to provide details of that law or the paying bank. There is no such law in Mexico.

Our advice, stay clear from these scammers!
