Very bad workmanship. Doors don't fit right. Still got electrical problems, loose water lines in the wall. Floors squeak, really bad finishing.

Lack of quality control. Shoddy workmanship from the sub-contractors. Lack of communication between company and client. Extremely disappointed with my experience. Do not recommend.

My experience with Sedgewick Homes, LLC was extremely disappointing. The lack of quality control and shoddy workmanship from the sub-contractors left me feeling frustrated. The communication between the company and the client was also lacking, which only added to my disappointment. I cannot recommend Sedgewick Homes, LLC based on my experience.

We've been pretty happy with our home overall, but there's been one big issue with the electrical stuff. Our breakers keep tripping, even when we're just watching TV and have a simple lamp plugged in. During Christmas, we couldn't even have the tree and TV on at the same time. And now, it's the TV and our electric fireplace that trip the breaker. It seems like they put too much on the same breakers. Some of my friends who also built with Sedgewick are having the same problem. On the bright side, our home is really nice, and the people we worked with - the salesperson, designer, and contractor - were all great. But when it comes to follow-up after the build, it's a different story. They respond to our concerns, but nothing actually gets fixed. I mean, the house is supposed to be under warranty for a whole year, but they don't even start doing anything until the 11th month. What happens then?

I wanna tell ya a couple things right off the bat. I had some real bad experiences with Sedgewick Homes, LLC. First off, I was sexually harassed by the foreman on my job, and he mixed up business and personal stuff. They ended up firing him, but now some other home builder has to deal with him. And let me tell ya, my electrical is all messed up. It's so messed up that even their electrician won't touch it. He says he never makes mistakes, so he won't come fix it during the warranty period. And get this, half my house stops working on the regular. Can you believe it? I haven't had a working washer in three whole months! I could go on and on about all the things that are wrong with my house. The whole floor is a disaster, and the warranty people keep gaslighting me and emotionally abusing me. Seriously, don't even think about building a house with this company. Go anywhere else. If you want more info, I got plenty of details, pictures, texts, and emails to back up what I'm sayin'. The payment process went quick, but everything else has been slow. Our sales contact seems overwhelmed and not very attentive. We've had to wait for change orders and only received them promptly after leaving a message or sending an email. It's frustrating that we can only see progress when we complain or ask about the change order status. It makes me wonder if our messages were forgotten or ignored. We signed the sales contract in 2020 and haven't seen any plans, design team, or progress at the home site. We were promised progress by now, but maybe they have too many projects and can't keep up.

I read sum of the reviews and it's kinda scary. We're also in the process of building with this company. We signed the final paperwork in July . We had sum issues with finances but that got sorted out quick. We kept askin' if there would be any delays 'cause of that, and we asked 'bout the staff and vendors, and they said there wouldn't be any problems. We almost didn't wanna keep goin' with the process, but they kept assurin' us that everything was on schedule. One thing that made us stick with 'em was that they said they pre-order all the materials needed to build the house, so they'd have 'em ready. But let me tell ya, that ain't true! There's been one delay after another. We know the housing market is crazy right now, but they said everything was goin' fine. We've already found several problems, and it ain't the supervisor assigned to our home's fault. We gotta keep checkin' on what's bein' done all the time. We've also had a hard time communicatin' with this company. It's gotten a little better, but it's been super stressful for us. Lookin' back, we should've just bought a house that was already built. We've kinda lost our excitement 'bout buildin' this house now.

I don't recommend using this company to build your custom built home. It's been a disaster from the start! Don't believe it when they say "We're not happy until you're happy" and "What we quote is what you pay." First, we were $12,000 over at closing. Second, we got our keys on July 28. They didn't finish our front porch and promised to come back in 10 days to fix it. It's been almost 2 months and they still haven't come back or answered our texts (since the superintendent doesn't like taking phone calls). We also told them we wanted ethernet jacks in our contract, but they installed phone jacks instead. Still no response. Another time, we had bad weather and they said we needed gravel to prevent the crane from getting stuck. We got the gravel, but the crane still got stuck and guess who had to pay for the tow? We did! $1,200! I could keep going about our terrible experience, but I just wanted to make my point. This company has poor communication and the subcontractors don't care and aren't supervised at all. Also, Sedgewick offers a $1000 referral bonus when you refer a customer to them. We had 2 people who were building their homes ask us about Sedgewick. Needless to say, they chose another contractor.

Stay away from this company. We just closed on our "dream home" with this builder and it was a terrible experience. A friend recommended them to us, but they also had a bad experience. We signed a contract in October and were told it would take 8-11 months to complete, but that didn't happen. Ground wasn't broken until 9 months later. There were long delays in drafting, review, and design pricing. It took 4 months to get a quote on a simple back door. They blamed it on "covid." We chose the standard option for most finishes to save money, but our supplies weren't ordered until May . The footings were dug on July 6. The supplies we received had production dates from months before. Many mistakes were made. The superintendent rarely showed up and yelled at me when I questioned the quality of work. He was replaced by his boss. When I complained about the quality, I was told it was Sedgewick's standard. There were mistakes in framing, drywall, trim, paint, countertops, flooring, deck, and cabinets. It took 4 months to replace the flooring. Countertops had to be re-cut and re-installed. Drywall seams are visible everywhere. The final paint job took 7 days and was terrible. I spoke with the second-in-command, Arlo B, and he was rude and unprofessional. They make excuses and don't take responsibility. They don't listen to or support their customers. It has been a nightmare for over 17 months.
