This is my first/last experience with the once-well-respected Lacie, now Seagate-owned.
Briefly, I bought this drive in Jan 2025, and now - 8 months later - it suddenly began rapid-blinking and is no longer recognized by my computer. I tried all the troubleshooting tips, no effect (and now the disk is making grinding noises too.)
So... it's warrantied, right? I can send it back, right?
Well, not possible. Like others have written, there is NO way to contact them, the "chat" function and "check warranty status" on their website do not work at all, ever, with any computer/browser.
Believing now that "Lacie" is no longer a top-rung company that stands behind its product. Also it is clear that Seagate cannot be contacted at all, by a normal human being using normal communication tools & skills.
Short story: Just going to "eat" the cost and give up on the data which was stored, as my original computer still is fine, with all its data and a new drive on the way - definitely not "Lacie" and never again, anything Seagate.
Country of complaint: United States
Claimed loss: Cost of drive and value of 1TB or so images and documentsNot to mention loss of days/sleep trying - in vain - to contact Seagate, online or via (non-existent) support by phone.
Desired outcome: Ideally, would like Seagate to be somehow forced to honor its warranty and to acknowledge a serious breach of responsibility to customers.
