We bought 3 Roundtree & Yorke T-shirts at Dillard's. My husband tried them on new, w/tags on, they fit. Before wearing any clothes I wash them; after that initial laundering, these 3 T-'s shrank to almost a size less, an XL was now almost a Large. I took them back to Dillard's but they refused to take them back. Company policy on returns or exchanges is only to do that when the items are in the original condition. How we would have found out that these shirts would shrink if NOT washing them? The manager saw my point, but still refused any help. The other choice was if it was a manufacturer's fault. In my opinion this IS a manufacturer's fault. Next I sent an e-mail to Dillard's customer service - nobody ever contacted us. I find this poor customer service on their part and I am not so sure that we will purchase from them in the future. Definitely nothing from Roundtree & Yorke!

Sorry to hear this, as with most clothing sold at Dillard's, cold wash and low dry are recommended on the garments. Especially with the new HE detergents. Sorry again for the inconvenience.

I would like to speak to whomever designed the terry cloth robes. My wife bought this one from dillards. (Big fan)

But I gotta say, although the double tie wrap loops are very nice, the placement (about 2 inches under the armpits is just poor judgement. So I took it up on myself to unstitch them and move them down about 6 inches. ( to the proper waist alignment)

Then realized the pockete were in the *tie zone", or so to speak. So, then had to lower the pockets as well.

...has anyone else noticed the poor design of said robes?

Who thinks this design is correct?

I'm not an odd size either. I'm about an average height and weight. So, I'm of the opinion that I can't be the only one that hates the placement.

(If you guys would like to help me get over my "DISMAY" of the hassle it's been I do love stance socks, and psycho bunny tees, and even Bed Stu. ...jus' sayin!

Like I stated in my opening, I'm a big fan of Dillard's, and it wouldnt hurt my feelings none if you had a giftcard laying around.

Sincerely,

James T. McCranie

I have bought a large number of Gold Label - Round tree an Yorke shirts and they all look very nice when coming out of the dryer. I have worn them a number of times. Six of these shirts have torn right along a seam in the right arm in the back stitching. We purchased them at Dillard's and they would not replace them or do anything for me. These are 65 dollar shirts and should not tear apart in such a short length of time. I feel that they are very inferiorly made not to last any length of time. We will not be purchasing shirts at Dillard's in the future. We have lost a very costly investment in dress shirts. I feel that the company that makes these should make arrangements to have satisfied customers.

I purchased three pairs of Roundtree & Yorke men's brief. We have owned them for 6 months and washed them at least 12 times. At the price of tshirts and underwear, I wash them with my dedicates and hang them to dry. The underwear hasn't pilled however, the crotch has pilled. I assume to wear however, it makes no sense for them to pill on the inside of the crotch. The pilling of the cotton isn't even soft. The material is very rough to the skin, almost like fine sand paper.

I have been buying your jeans for over 12 years. The last two pair jeans I wore very little and both pair of jeans had their right pockets get holes in them.
My old jeans are still doing good. The two new jeans have only been washed once. The old pairs many a times. I only put my keys and change in the right side pocket. I tried fixing them myself but it does not last. It looks like you put a softer cotton pocket in the jeans. The person at the cleaners are going to replace half of the pocket with a new heavier pocket at a cost of $13.25 each pocket. I guess you realize I will not be buying anymore of your jeans. I am sure other people will stop buying your jeans if they need to get them repaired so quick.

I purchased 2 Roundtree & Yorke polo shirts for my husband at Dillard's in Dallas, Texas. When I removed the size stickers on the shirts there was the gooey stuff left on them. I turned the shirts inside out and sprayed a small amount of Shout; then proceeded to wash in cold water. The color bled and there are ugly discolored stains. These dress shirts were expensive and are ruined. These stickers are not necessary on apparel because the size is already on the neck area and tags are attached. I contacted Dillard's and were told nothing could be done because I should have read the label. What label to speak of? When a stain gets on a shirt, dress, etc., millions of people use Shout products. The fabrics used for these shirts are cheap!
I hope to hear from Roundtree & Yorke about this.

I have had the same problem with my Roundtree and Yorke sweatshirts, long sleeve shirts and polos. I bought a bunch at clearance and washed them after I wore them. They all shrunk and started to fray on the bottoms. I didn't remember when I bought them (they are not the only shirts in my wardrobe). I had washed them and believe it or not, I hadn't worn and washed them with the labels still attached. I tried to take them back to Dillards in Provo, Utah. Dan, the men's wear manager said "Dillards doesn't rent clothing! " I had the shirts for longer than thirty days and hadn't kept the receipts because I expected the shirts to wear out and not become doll clothing.

I am now an ex-Dillards customer. Beware of their clothing!

Dear Sir:
My wife purchases all my clothes and it has been Youndtree and Yorke for years. I have always been pleased with the quality of your merchandise. Every Saturday Morning I have breakfast with some friends at the Paris Coffee Shop in Fort Worth, Texas. One of our members purchased one of your belts with silver buckles and decorations. We all liked the belt so well, that we each purchased an identical belt. All six of us.

Five of the belts are doing well, but for some reason, my belt on the left hand side about one foot from the buckle has broken the leather and looks really bad. I have no explanation on why this has happened. I am disappointed that mine is the only belt that this has happened to. All the others remain in very good condition. I am thinking it is caused by a manufacturing problem or a flaw in the leather from which it was made.

Right now I am a 100% Roundtree and Yorke man from heck to toe. EXCEPT FOR MY BELT. Without my Roundtree and Yorke leather silver belt I feel undress and wear my shirt down over my waste when I go to breakfast. I am the only of the group that do not have a Roundtree and Yorkee, leather, silver belt.

I am sure you would like to make this right.

Why does Dillard's no longer carry the Roundtree & Yorke "Weathered Casuals" line? I can only find the regular "Casuals" and Gold Label. My husband is very particular about the material of his clothing, and I have searched the United States for weeks to find replacement dress shirts for his 2 Roundtree and Yorke Weathered Casuals dress shirts that are his favorite, but unfortunately have to be retired. I went into Dillards to see if they could maybe contact Roundtree and Yorke to see if I could order a few of them directly from the company, (since there is no website or way to contact them myself directly), and even offered to pay any price they needed to charge me for the order, they were VERY rude, and said no without even trying I say Roundtree and Yorke uses a differently retailer than Dillards as they are giving their brand a very bad name. These shirts are very important to my husband, and I know it sounds silly, but this was my birthday present to him so I absolutely HAVE to find them. If anyone knows where to find the Weathered Casuals line in the Daytona Beach Florida area please let me know by posting back to this site, or if you know how to contact Roundtree and Yorke directly. PLEASE!

I work at a dry cleaners ( been in the bussiness for 15 yrs.)and my boss ( whom has been in the bussiness for 25 yrs.)and I were talking today about the Gold Label Roundtree & yorke button up dress shirts. We have several that we do on the laundry side each day.She asked me to please send Roundtree & Yorke a message for her. However I can not find a way to do so. Then I found this site.
The message she wanted to send is "That the plaket of the shirt draws up therefore there is no where for the material to go.So, when pressed the material bunchies up at the plaket." "She hates these shirts an stated that these are the worst shirts on the market." You may contact her at... nannapike@aol.com If you are interested in speeking with her. Hopefully you will change the material that you make the shirts with. Thank you; Angela (Dry Clean Tech and presser)

I have bought numerous Round tree an Yorke gold label shirts as I loved the way they came out of the dryer ready to wear. Unfortuneatly now that I have worn them several times three of these shirts have torn right along a seam in the arm or back. Dillard's would not replace them or do anything for me. These are 65 dollar shirts and should last a long time. I cannot find any info on how to contact Roundtree & Yorke but I have stopped buying these shirts. It is a RIP OFF :) pun intended...

I had almost the same experience with R&Y's Sport sweatshirts. I have bought a couple of them every year since Dillard's started stocking them. A few weeks ago I bought 2 more and, like the initial message in this stream, I washed them. They shrunk a full size. I wear an XL and these new ones are simply too small. The three (3) that I have from previous years still fit perfectly. The new ones that are mis-sized were made in China and Mexico. The ones I have bought in previous years were made in Nicaragua. We washed the new ones the same way we have always washed and dried the old ones. J. A. Hess, Bartlesville, OK

I'm curious how you washed them. Almost every tee I've ever had shrunk if I washed them in hot water (top-loader) and machine dried them. That's why I wash them in warm water and hang dry them. Also, I now have a front-load machine which uses very little water so it doesn't expose fabrics to hot water as long as a top-loader. This is a big factor in shrinkage as well.

Keep things in perspective. They're tee shirts, not dress shirts. Tee shirts are generally made of cotton jersey which universally shrinks. Granted, there are some brands that make tee shirts that shrink very little, but they're rare. One such brand is Patagonia. Next time, if you're that picky about tee shirts, I'd recommend Patagonia tees. They shrink less than anyone's but as I said earlier, I always wash warm in a front-loader and hang dry them. The next option is buy tee shirts made of a synthetic. I have some and they perform flawlessly. I wash them in warm or cold water and hang dry them. They air dry in about 2 hours or less and are completely wrinkle free.

Dilkard's 'claims' to provide a great survice.
But they dont... they treat employees like crap too.
