The Midtown Group Thieves and Liars

This place is horrible, and thieves. I was sent on two assignments. The second assignment was the most uncomfortable enviornment that you could place a young female in. Even after requesting to be re-assigned I was left their. I also noticed a drastic change in my paychecks as though money was being taken out for something other than taxes.
I decided to quit, but was told to just finish the day. Then I as discharged from the assignment out the blue, and the my recruiter discharged me from the agency as well. Coming up with an excuse of me breaking policy. These people are unprofessionals and will try to keep you from unemployment or another job. Be careful, everything with them is a set-up

The Midtown Group Awful place to work in

I was a temporary recruiter and realized I could never be brought on permanent they just continued to string me along as they always do to everyone, Do not work for this company! If you are a potential client please stay away. I am a seasoned staffing professional and worked for The Midtown Group at their DC office for close to a year as a permanent staff member. They hire most of their internal staff on a contingent basis so they can get away without having to pay benefits or decent commissions. This company has lost so many good people it is ridiculous! I watched about 7 people leave in the short time I was there. The Midtown Group had only about 23 employees so losing even a couple staff members is a huge blow. The Midtown Group finds anyway to cut corners so they can reduce their overhead. They monitor exempt employee's time and take away vacation hours/hard earned bonuses if someone shows up late a couple times, despite being a solid producer. They also operated in Chicago without a business license. In addition, they lie about being a small business so that they can get contracting preferences on local government business. They also pay some of their recruiters well below the going rate for the position and geographic region.

I completely agree with this poster. The turnover rate is terrible. They have a reputaion in the industry as a revolving door employer. They are unprofessional, often profiting off the hard work of seasoned professionals who were hired on contingency. The work environment lacks team work, resources, and communication. This company lacks integrity and fails to invest in their internal staff. The best candidates are not always presented. Orders are horded and often not orders at all, because there is not a signed fee agreement. They often work on orders for positions that are not within their area of expertise because they are so desperate for business.

If you are a potential client take note. Research turnover rates. Ask for other client references regarding their service. If you are considering a career as a recruiter please read the other postings on the internet and this site. There is a reason these postings are here.

I agree 200% with the poster. Even in this economy do NOT waste your time with this company. They are a total waste of time and are totally unprofessional. Everyone in the industry knows they are a horrible company they have a reputation as being unprofessional, lacking integrity and having a total lack of disregard for other people including their internal staff.

If you are looking for a career in the staffing and recruiting industry then walk right past this company. It is just as a bad if not worse than Robert Half. If you have dealings with Midtown red flags will appear quickly. Trust your gut and beware.
