Peebles Store reviews and complaints
Avoid dealing with this ppl
A refund was not placed on account and store manager had no say. My sister and I went to Peebles to shop for clothing to wear for my mother's funeral memorial. Sister purchased several articles of clothes. She opened up an account at their store and these were charged to it. The next day, she took back some of the merchandise to exchange due to not fitting properly. She got other items in place of the returned items. All this is documented on reciepts she got from their store. She owed only $18.50, which she sent to Peebles via mail, ( the check was cashed). Now Peeples are telling she owes $66.00! We have reciepts to all of this, she owes NOTHING! She contacted the store, the store's main office, made a dispute, etc...to no avail.
After opening the account there, here bank credit card was compromised and $1100 was taken out of her bank account without her knowledge. Peebles deal their account card with a World Bank, and the money $1100 was charged to a French catalog by someone overseas! This whole ordeal has been sickening, troublesome, time consuming and upsetting! Too many hands are in the credit card bussiness, especially over the internet! Americans need oversight with the internet and a crime unit to catch these crooked people! Way too much Fraud going on! Shame on Peebles for ripping off my sister and not helping her properly! That store needs to be closed here in Pa. Shame, shame on them!
Had I never been there, I would not have been offended
I have been a customer of this store for more than 13 years--at least. Every sales person in this store knows me or my face. I am there once a week and sometimes w/ my 83 year old mother-in-law. I realize there are rules and regulations that must be adhered to, and would have never asked--except that your employees have accepted the card ---without asking ---on previous occasions. They know that I take care of her and do her shopping, and that we appreciate the fact, that you have open isles that her wheelchair and enter easily. Miss Georgia, who has waited on us numerous times, refused to take the card when I told her that it was my mother-in laws. She called Miss Ivory, who again refused. I gave them "MY" debit card and paid for the merchandise--and never once was asked to see my identification. Had I never been there, I would not have been offended. After 13 years, I am offended. I came home and explained the situation to my husband who called the bank to make me "an official person to the account." This problem should not have occurred, but now you are out of a very good customer ---and my mother-in-law, and I am out of one of my favorite stores. I am 60 years old and I expect an apology.
