Buyer beware!! Do NOT use Excel Granite. They created the
most stressful experience I dealt with during
my home renovations. I picked out
my granite in March and called in late April to make an appointment to have a
template made. The appointment was
scheduled for May 1st. The day before, they called to confirm the
appointment for May 2nd. When
I said it was scheduled for May 1st, not May 2nd, they
said “oh sorry, we forgot to tell you.”
I had already taken the day off from work. They never called me about installation.
After two weeks I finally called them (which involves having to call 20 times
until someone picks up). They told me
installation would be on Tuesday, May 20th. On Monday, May 19th,
I received a call confirming this. I
received a second call mid-day asking me to confirm a measurement. Turns out
the person who measured was off by about 55 inches on my breakfast bar. I assumed this would be resolved. I received a third call later in the day
saying the installation wasn’t going to happen, and they said I should already
have known this. I asked if installation
would get moved to Wednesday the 21st and they said yes. On Tuesday, still no word from them
confirming Wednesday, so I made 20 calls again to reach someone. Apparently Wednesday was booked up, and they
wanted me to wait until Friday for installation. Granite finally gets installed
on Friday, May 23rd. They forgot both the dishwasher clips and a
piece of the granite. A corner of my
breakfast bar was also not polished and had chips in it. They scheduled an appointment for Friday, May
30th to bring the missing pieces. I get a call confirming my
appointment for Thursday the 29th. How can you just change a
customer’s appointment with no notice? Don’t they realize people work? I
finally got it changed back to its original date and time frame of 9 AM-12
PM. They delivered only dishwasher clips
at 9 AM. They said they broke my missing
piece and would bring a new piece of granite “later”. Needless to say, it’s
Friday night and I still do not have the missing piece. I was not able to get in touch with anyone for
most of the day, and when I did, they said they would call back but never did. The prices are not worth the aggravation!!
I do not even know where to begin with how horrible their customer service is. Completely unprofessional business, and is definitely NOT worth the slightly lower cost... Aliny, which everyone seems to be writing about on the web is terrible. I simply can't believe she owns a business. They never answered their phone and I'm still in disbelief that they took our 2000 dollar deposit and then gave our slab away! That is the point of the deposit...to keep the slab! Well, they gave it away...then they tell me it's because we took to long to get our kitchen ready for them..of course it's our fault and not theirs...their communication skills are awful, and I reported them to the better business bureau...
So many horrible things to say about them that I don't have the energy to write it all down..please get this business closed!
Last week I tried calling Excel Granite numerous times to find out their showroom hours. I ended up leaving 2-3 messages and never received a callback. Finally, a week later, I got through to someone named Aliny. I ask her what her showroom hours are today, and she tells me "10am-5pm" with a very sharp foreign accent. So I drive over - the prices are great, so I'm willing to drive 45-minutes+ to see the showroom - only to get there at 2pm and the shop is closed! There's a sign on the door, "call this number xxx-xxx-xxxx" and I did. It was Aliny again, who explained to me that she's busy and I needed to schedule an appointment to see the showroom floor. I explained to her that I literally had called her an hour ago and she gave me the hours they were open. SHE HUNG UP ON ME! I'm left standing outside Excel Granite with a sour taste in my mouth.
At that point, the only thing I wanted to do was let her boss know that this woman is rude, lazy, and has no customer service skills whatsoever. So I did a little research: come to learn - ALINY IS THE OWNER!
Maybe you'll have better luck seeing their showroom floor than I did. There are plenty of other granite contrators out there with the same great prices Excel Granite offers, but with superb communication and customer service skills.
