Casey's General Store unhappy employee

Hi there. I work at a Casey's General Store in the state of Kansas. Overall, it's a great place to work. Yet, I have a few complaints. First of all, we did not get proper training at all when we first opened. I basically had to train myself, and then train all of my other co-workers. Which is what the regional trainer, whose name was Adam, is supposed to do. Correct? Next, we never got any breaks. That is illegal, not to mention unethical. We had to ask our supervisor if we could have a break, which we should not have to do. Legally, in Kansas, for every four hours worked, you should get 15 minute paid break. That should NOT include lunch breaks. I get one small break when I work, and I have to scarf down my food. Seems like I have to be a cigarette smoker to get more breaks. Pretty disappointing. Another problem I see is with the smocks/uniforms. You have sizes up to (and perhaps exceeding) 5XL, yet you do not have an XS? I am wearing a Small and I am practically swimming in it because it is so ill-fitting. It looks very unprofessional. This is pathetic. And finally, it makes me sick how much food we are forced to throw away. I can understand that this is a liability issue, but it's sickening to think about how there are people starving, yet Casey's General Store is over here throwing away an alarming amount of food a DAY. You should be ashamed. Another thing I may add is that I was asked to be assistant manager. And promptly got a call from our supervisor saying that I cannot be the assistant manager because my COUSIN works there. Even though I work in the lobby, and she works in the kitchen. How in the world do you expect to have a Casey's in a small town of 2, 500 and not have a few of your workers be related? Mother and daughter, or husband and wife is one thing... but, cousins? I truly do not understand your motives here. Nor do any of us at the store (we have all been complaining about these things, by the way). Also, I thought I might add, that if someone has piercing or tattoos, that in NO way, shape, or form affects the work ethic of said person. Very disappointed that you are such a judgmental company. Almost no ethics from your company. That's all I have to say.

Casey's General Store employee bad behavior

I had pulled in to get gas. And the pump I was on had a temporary out of service credit card slot. I had to go inside. Not a problem at all. I was on the phone and nicely told the person I was talking to to please hold a moment. I know what that's like working behind the counter. It's rude when people are on their phones. The girl behind the counter seemed all right no problem. I read on the machines chip reader not working or credit card. Not a problem. She said I can slide my car and I said OK. I didn't think anything was wrong. She must of been irritated. Having a bad day? I must have offended her in someway? The problem was when she rudely interrupted something I was saying to her hands me my receipt smile is very conniving and says in a snotty way. Have a good day. They were people behind me a man beside me. I haven't been treated like that in a long time! She continues to ignore me as I'm standing there shocked. And help the next person. As I leave I see her outside at the pump in front of me helping an elderly man and I don't have to roll down the window to hear what she saying. She was treating him very poorly. It's a shame when something as simple as going to get gas and spend money you earn to you guys that you provide for us Turns into having someone truly disrespect you and those around you! This isn't the first time it's happened anyways. I don't know if I'll be going back. I'd rather drive an extra five minutes then deal with sarcasm! I don't know who she was but it was 12:30 PM in the afternoon June 11. Hope it was worth it for her to pass her crap. No one deserves that it!

I guess being observant and having emotions towards rudeness makes me a child, a hypocrite, and I Assume too much. I am no child but a women. So the word girl instead of women was stated. Makes no difference and wasn't the issue. The fact that people are intelligent enough to know the difference between right and wrong is enough. There is being nasty and being decent. The fact of phone. You read it? Did you not. No one was interrupted n told nicely to hold BECAUSE it's rude! I'm sry. Guess I should state it was as I was walking in the door and not in line yet. Again- makes no difference AND wasn't the issue. Because some people can't assuming correctly or read thoroughly makes it more complicated. That FACTS are simple. Wether or not you are having a bad day or other opinions towards something. Being unkind and actions are enough. Especially in the public eye. Sure I could've just blown it off. We all could. But, we shouldn't have to. There's a difference in being employed and handling the public. That unnecessary CRAP and the fact that you say I'm a child for saying what was observed is your opinion. Understandable. Reasons why we write what we do on here. Regardless it was wrong. Guess when I seen it with the elderly gentleman it bothered me more. Have a little more respect. Whole thing was sad and inconvenient.
