I got my resume done by Resume Target Inc. I paid more than $300 and the writer was very particular about the writing style. They insisted on doing a functional resume, even though I didn't want one. Everywhere online says not to do a functional resume, but they didn't listen. I feel like they just wanted my money and didn't care about what I wanted. I haven't had any interviews and I think my resume is poorly formatted. When the writer first emailed me, they said they couldn't change the format, but it's not good. I feel like I wasted my money and got nothing out of it.

I called on Feb 3 and talked to Matt, who said he would review the issue and talk to me about a solution. But I never heard from him or anyone else again, except for the original resume writer who asked me to send changes. I talked to three Vice Presidents of Human Resources, and they said they wouldn't consider my resume because it looked outdated, had poor grammar, and was cluttered. They said it looked like a junior-level professional's resume, not an executive-level applicant's. They checked the resume with their ATS system, and it didn't flag any of the primary keywords I asked Katherine - the assigned resume writer - to use. I asked for a refund for the profile optimization, resume distribution service, and poor quality of the initial resume and cover letter, but I never got any of them.
