Republic Services review: Waste pickup

My original contract in 2018 was for 3 years at 408.00 per month. I did not realize there was a fine print clause of renewal for another 3 years. During the contract my fees doubled. My understanding of a contract is it is for both parties protection against this kind of thing. In 2021 near the end of the contract I wanted to end service but I was told I had 5 more months on it so I opted to change the pickup days.
At that point , without my knowledge, a new contract was put in place of the old one. My fees are now, over $ 1,800.00 per month during the slowest period of my business. When I tried to cancel the service, I was told due to the " 36 month renewal in small print" i still have 8 months on the current contract. To end service will cost a fortune. I am stuck paying a fortune for trach pickup and feel like I'm being held hostage!
