I worked for this company a few years ago for a few months. The managers, Andrew Rickard and Mike Indelicato as well as their team leads, have the worst vocabularies. They use chronic profanity toward their workers in meetings and regularly on the sales floor. I had to literally cover my mouthpiece a few times when I was cold calling prospects for diamond ordering. Furthermore, the reps are coerced into using over 6 different scripts in order to hound small jewelers into memo-ing diamonds. It is basically a "boiler room", the fringe benefits are poor, their so-called HR person screams and hollers at workers during her mood episodes, and employees are threatened daily if they do not meet Mike's grandiose sales goals.
In fact, there is a rumor that Mike made a sarcastic comment about breaking Louis's fingers over some diamond orders which did not run smoothly, in front of other staff. This rumor was repeated by Mike's lead generation rep and friend Shane to me. Furthermore, because I needed to leave work a half hour early on Wednesdays for school, Mike refused to negotiate a win-win solution by telling me that I had to sacrifice any benefits over a 0.5 hour loss. His excuse was insurance purposes. I was not allowed to stay a 0.5 hour later any other day even though others stayed more than 1 hour other days all the time.
If you see these guys advertising on CareerBuilder, Craigslist, or Monster, then avoid these guys for long-term employment. In fact, Mike wanted to terminate me for making a passive joke about his sister which was not sexual or explicit. It was actually based on incorrect info about who chose the music played in the sales room. More than likely, Mike and Andrew have convinced the floor that I was the bad guy, despite the reality of the ongoing abuse they experience.

All of these complaints are years old and only include 2 or 3 disgruntled former employees from a large company with dozens of employees. This ratio has me skeptical that this is an accurate representation of the company environment.

I quit in 2022. ALL this is correct. Run like a bad family restaurant where NOBODY has any education. Everyone is drinking on the job or under the influence too. CEO thinks he's mafia.

All of it is WAY worse than the person described. Sexist, hostile & violent work environment. Guy got in a girls face & screames "F--- You, B---!" so loud people on the phone heard. Thats SERIOUS workplace violence & nothing happened to the guy, call him I G.

The person that is complaining that the person is bias and did not leave their name makes me laugh . They themselves did not leave their name so that must make them cowards. And for who ever it might be with the grievance which is obvious that it is Chad pay attention that company has had a lot more employees than 2 more like a couple of hundred and these 2 are the only complaints that's pretty darn good and it sounds like they wish they had never been fired it sounds like sour grapes to me

Response to Disputer's Comments

In response to the comments posted on August 12th, 2012, any viewer should observe the following characteristics.
1) The commentator withheld his/her own name from the posting. Meanwhile, he/she attempted to use bully-like criticisms of "Chad" and "Alfonso" in order to try to invalidate their credibility; this person willingly chose to remain anonymous for a reason.
Most likely, this person could be lying about being an ex-employee and still be working there. Since few people refuse to engage in these political arguments, someone had to step up and defend RDI in this matter.
2) The person also used ambiguous descriptions to praise the management without giving specific details that could be proven with consistent evidence. For example, what is "very professional" according to this claimant's perception?
3) This person lied about "Chad's" quality of acquaintanceship with RDI workers. To exclaim that all RDI employees perceived "Chad" as weird is quite an inflated misnomor and a defamatory statement. There are several current and ex-RDI employees who still have positive contact with the claimant outside of RDI Diamonds through community interactions. Their testimonies concur with the claimant's complaints.
4) This person claimed to know enough about these people's work performance that this person most likely was, and could still be, one of the RDI management such as a team lead, supervisor, or head owner. If this person was or currently is only a sales rep, then this person has a partial favoritism with management and a basic HR rule was violated. In the world of HR, management is never to disclose work performance information with other employees. Even though this person's name has been narrowed down to a few possibilities based on the posting alone, this person's identity will be protected so that he/she can continue to write bullying nonsense and expose his/her true character along with those who support that workplace's culture.
5) This person withheld his/her reason for ending employment with RDI. But, he/she willingly attempted to mock the claimants' comments for leaving RDI.
6) This person also lied about "laziness" as being a significant factor in why their employment ended. This person must be a fairly strong friend of the RDI owners and decided to engage in derogatory statements.

In summary, please be cautious with the disputer's comments. The paragraph appears to be an attempt to mock the claimants' grievances and nothing more. It also reveals the disputer's partiality with RDI management and therefore is subjective and biased.

I am an ex employee myself, I worked there while these two complainers were there. The first one is Chad and he was really weird, No one got along with him. Also, he would make strange jokes about employees there. The last one was about the owners sister saying he wished he could put a banana peel on the stairs so she could fall and break her neck. Hmmm, now I wonder why he is no longer employed there. The second complainer here is Alfonso, He could never listen to anyone. He always wanted to do what he wanted to do, regardless of what everyone was telling him. He was really bad at sales and would lie to customers, and that was the last straw working there. Customers would complain about getting shipments from him without ordering anything. The bottom line if your not doing your job if its here or anywhere or if your threaten management then your not going to keep your job for very long. I am surprised they even lasted as long as they did because the management gave them way to many chances. Anyways, I am no longer there for personal reasons. But this company was a great company to work for. All the management there are very professional and are driven to succeed. And if your lazy then this place is not for you.

Yes everything stated in the Poor Work Environment is very true. I think this individual was being to kind. I also went through there interview process and found Debra Fletcher the HR women to be unprofessional with her attitude with new hires also about the company and what they had to offer new employees. I did take the job offer although just to see if it would change once employed. And it didn't seem to just kept getting worse.
Mike Indelicato is the owner and a hot head, very hard to work with and for. I only lasted a few months as I found it to be a very disorganized company with no professional direction to advocate new sales for high end Jewelry stores. Some of my customers would call me on my cell phone after hours and ask me what the problem is with RDI is and the only thing I could tell them is to check out some of the reviews on the internet. I had a good friend working there and was hired to do something completely different from the job they put my friend on and when this individual didn't do as Debra Fletcher wanted she pulled this person into her office to scream at them, we could all hear her load mouth and a few times my customers and new prospects would ask me" whats all the screaming about" very unprofessional. The chronic profanity just goes to show everyone who has ever worked there is just another unprofessional move one the owner and managements part, as stated above they really need some proper English lessons there vocabulary is very poor.
I have to say " stay away from this company if you want to make real money selling diamonds go to there competition like I did". I am much happier and making twice the money with better benefits. To any employee of RDI reading this make your move and get out. When the owner and management wake up and realize they can't continue to use profanity, bullying as a motivator to there employees. One day someone is going to go postal on all of them. If they really want to be number one in diamond sales, however I don't see this happening in the near or distant future they really need to change.
