I got a deal with R&M Steel Co
I got a deal with R&M Steel Co. in August to January 2022. I paid $4,377.04 for the deposit and $16,695.20 for the contract. They promised to make a building for me that would fit the City of Boise's Building Code. But after I paid the deposit, I found out that I couldn't put the shop on my property because of the City's requirements. I talked to Danny S about my wishes for the shop, and he sent me a preliminary outline. He asked some engineering questions that made me think he knew about building code. He told me to put the deposit down so they could do the actual engineering and drawings for the foundation and the permit application for the City of Boise. I paid the deposit on October 8, with check #***. R&M only takes checks, no credit cards. They sent me the actual plans on November 12th. I took the plans to the Building Dept, but they said I couldn't build this shop. I went back to R&M Steel and told them what the issues were. After going back to the City and to R&M, and Idaho Survey Group, they said it was unfeasible due to setback requirements for the City of Boise. I told R&M that I felt they had misinformed me, wanting only the sale without really being interested in whether I could actually build the building. I asked that they take 50% of the responsibility for the mistake, but they refused. They are willing to refund me a total of $477.04 with full release of responsibility. I think they were negligent to the actual use of the product and only cared about the sale. It's bad business on their part, and sadly, I had wanted to work with them for years. Quote#

Without a doubt, the worst steel manufacture company that I have ever dealt with as a long time builder. I decided to give them one more chance, and 5 months later, multiple emails and phone calls, and I still do not have a quote back from them on a multi-million dollar project. I just can not believe that this company is still in business.
