First, if you consider it a "meesly" 15% off, why are you complaining? Second, student discounts are for STUDENTS only, meaning unless you yourself are a student, you would not be able to use the discount anyway. Your son would have had to make the purchase. If the manager just went around giving student discounts to everyone who claimed they were a student, every would get 15% off and the company would be out that much more money. So, take the advice of "Angry about lying about policies"; the world does not revolve around you. Get over it.
I hope that you also called corporate to complain about him. I'm sure there are plenty of other employees in the store who would love a promotion and actually act the way a manager should. I get that managers are asked all sorts of questions by customers and employees alike all day long, especially about store policies, but that's no reason to be flat out rude.
Please don't write in all caps. It makes posts hard to read.

That being said, H&M's policy is to only give out one bag per customer, and that bag needs to be a reasonable size that can comfortably fit all your items. Employees cannot give out an extra bag unless your items will not fit in the largest one. Employees also cannot put a small purchase, such as tank top, in a very large bag. This isn't to inconvenience the customer, it is to prevent theft. Many retail stores are the same, though not all are as strict. Also, about the 9 separate transactions thing, unless you bought one item, walked away from the counter, got back and in line and made a new purchase 9 times, then you probably would have just gotten 9 small bags, or had all your purchases consolidated into one large bag. It's not really that big of a deal.

If the woman really was that rude, you should have asked to speak to someone higher up, or called the corporate office.

Is the back of your card signed? If it is, then you do not have to show ID. If your card is not signed, then yes merchants DO reserve the right to ask for ID. Merchants don't do this to inconvenience the customer, they do this for customer and company safety. I worked for Forever 21 for almost 2 and half years, and you would be surprised how many times kids would steal their parents cards and rack up a huge bill before the company got more strict with checking IDs. When this happens, or when a card is flat out stolen, the company is out the cost of those items once the victim disputes the charge. It's not fair to the company or the victim.

What I don't understand is why it's such a big deal to show your ID? All you have to do is flash the card so they can match the name to card and then they can swipe it. They're not memorizing your address or anything. It sounds like you're either paranoid or just trying to be difficult.

You should have asked for a manager and explained the situation. The situation probably would have turned out better.

I agree with everyone on here. I worked for the company for almost 2 and a half years and only stayed so long because I loved some of my co-workers, and it was a stones throw from my college. Working there was like being back in high school. I worked hard and got paid like crap, managers would make up stories about me doing or saying things so that their friends would get promoted before I did. People were always talking behind everyone's back. The schedules were always getting changed around without notice. If you did something a manager didn't agree with, instead of speaking to you about it, they would go the passive-aggressive route and give you 10 hours a week while everyone else was getting 28-32 hours a week. The managers in my store spent more time locked in the backroom chit chatting, watching tv, painting their nails, or eating than they did on the floor. I once had an emergency where I was stranded an hour and a half away and literally could not get to work. The manager told me it "wasn't possible for me not to come in". What? Sorry, my situation was far more important than this job. I quit shortly after that. I could go on and on with the stories from just one store.

Also, I feel like the customers that come in to forever 21 are way more rude and inconsiderate, as opposed to other stores they shop in. I work at another major clothing store now and the customers that shop there are much nicer and make less of a mess. I don't know what it is about Forever 21 that a lot of people just turn into jerks the second they walk through the door.

Wow! Like I said, I worked for the company for well over 2 years so trust me, I know all about the stores policy. Feel free to ring up their customer service line and ask them how old you have to be to work for the company. They will tell you it is 18. My store turned away plenty of people of all skin colors because THEY WEREN'T 18.

Now, go get the booklet they sent with your credit card and read the rules. It will say if the card is NOT signed, they can ask for an ID! Even if it is signed, they can still ask for ID, but they cannot refuse to let you use the card for the transaction.

If you think the company is that racist, why do you keep shopping there? Like I also said, you should have asked for a manager instead of complaining like a two-year-old on this board. Feel free to secretly videotape their practices. Put it on YouTube. Go to the media! If anything at all, it MAY show that one particular employee has issues and shouldn't be in customer service if they don't like other skin colors. More than likely, it'll show that you're crazy.

You are either trolling this board, or severely paranoid. If it's the former, please get a life. If it's the latter, I suggest you make yourself a nice tinfoil hat and never leave your house again.
