ORDER SKYWAY USA satellite internet service ONLY IF YOU ARE A FOOL AND WANT TO BLOW MONEY!
I have used Skyway USA crap since January. I can not wait for the year contract to end. At first, the little gadget (LBN) was faulty, so I'd been paying for the service for a month and not even able to use it. The tech guy if thats what you call him was rude and claimed it was because the sattellite was not set up right and he couldnt help with that. (Although it plainly says on the website that tech support will help guide you through the satellite set up issues. Well, turns out the LBN gadget was faulty as well as the modem not working right. They sent a new one, and I got a $20 charge! THEN, I got MORE charges...more than the $30/mth I was only supposed to be charged. I wasted WAY too much time on the phone with uneducated workers there, some with attitude! I called 7 times before I finally got these UNAUTHORIZED charges credited back! I was told the "new" computer system was doing it. But, I read complaints on this company dated a year before where people were getting charged when they had to return a faulty gadget and you ARE NOT suppose to be charged for that just as the tech guy told me. Oh, and I was told that if I dispute the unauthorized charges, my service would be cut off and I'd get charged fees. When I asked the ignorant girl how'd she think that was possible, she said, "because we cant give you service you arent payng for!" That's when I reminded her that I'd already been charged for the NEXT month of service which of course I hadnt used, PLUS other charges that I never authorized!
As for the speed...SLOW SLOW SLOW! I am being completely honest when I tell you that some days it will take 1-2mins for just 1 page to open. It is so frustrating. Some websites will not open at all with this service. I have called 3 times about it and was told they'd find out the problem and call/email me...never did! Sometimes you will have to try connecting 4 or more times before it works which wastes ALOT of time if you have a business or have limited time. Sometimes (like now) you get no service other than dial-up. The satellite goes out I guess, so you have to call and wait. They have WAY more customers than the servers can handle. Heck, one of the "tech support" guys even told me that. Well, he said that it was slow because they need to upgrade servers and cant even send out new packages until they do. I asked how long before the servers will be upgraded. "Uh, about 60 days" he said. 60 days! So, if you ordered this service and there was a delay in getting your equipment and they told you the stuff was on backorder or whatever, now you see. I waited and waited on mine and was about to call and cancel, but then it arrived. [censored]! What a fool I was! If you order this after knowing what the rest of us have had to deal with, you deserve whatever you get...and have no right to complain.
I had nothing but PROBLEMS with this mess. If you call to cancel and they won't answer, or answer and say "I'll have to take your # and have someone call you", or you lv a msg and get no return, don't waste time with them. Go ahead and file a report with the Better Business Bureau. It only takes a few minutes.
I called 4 times and got transferred to "Trish" or whoever, and had to lv a msg...never got a return call. I called 5 times and got busy signals nonstop. I called numerous times and waited for over 6mins...then a goodbye message, and my call was ended! I also called and a lady said she'd have to take my # and have someone call me back! No one ever called me of course. I have been trying to cancel for about 3mths now. I finally decided to call my credit card co and let them know what's going on, THEN filed a report with the BBB.
I've had it with this INCOMPETENT SKYWAY USA BS!
Thank you for all the warnings. I was suspicious as soon as it asked for info and credit card info before even explaining or showing what info it could tell you (which is NOTHING!) What a joke!
Most of their surveys offer 75 points which equals around $0.65. You spend 5-10 mins just to get a page saying "You did not qualify." IF you qualify, most surveys take 20 minutes or more. So, basically you get $0.65 for 20 minutes of your time (less than $2/hr!) What a JOKE! People, do the math first with these survey sites. You waste HOURS on surveys just to be told you don't qualify. They take all your info, yet don't pay. Most legit survey companies send you surveys that you DO qualify for based on your info given. The screener may take a couple minutes, but 10-15 minutes? That's what Lightspeedpanel.com does . MOST IMPORTANTLY...Lightspeed often does not give points or you almost finish a survey, and it has an error. I emailed cust. service FIVE times about not getting pts for one survey. NO RESPONSE!
I ended my account! MY TIME IS WORTH MORE THAN $1.50/hr
