They are a medical debt collector. AMC7 is the code for Albany Medical Center or Albany Medical College (which is a seperate billing code for the docttors that work at Albany Med). Call them at 383-4000.
That seems outlandish. People usually respond in kind with how they are treated. All of the people who work there are very nice and have on several occasions entertained my concerns. I'm sure if they called you rude...it must have been because you approached them like you did this forum.

Anything under $50 for debt collection isn't reported to your credit. If it was by mistake you can have it removed.

How is it a law firm's fault that you neglected your bill? The hospitals always send you out two to three statements and call you numerous times before they send it to collections. Think about it: wouldn't you rather collect your own debts rather than pay a lawyer to collect them for you? The hospital loses money every time they have to send someone like you to collections.

You wonder where the economic hardships and high medical costs come from? You're part of that answer. Rising costs to collect debts reflect rising doctor costs which equal higher insurance premiums.

Why not have your mechanic order parts? It seems kind of ridiculous to have someone who obviously doesn't fix cars order parts to fix them...you may want to change mechanics.
Hours? That seems a bit far-fetched.

They tell you it's your fault? Again, far-fetched.

Sounds like you had one problem and are taking it out on the entire company and over-generalizing. Why not find out what went wrong and try to avoid it in the future?
