It's the employees' job to make sure the shoes are matching. The registers used to have the pop up alerts whenever they scan a pair of shoes. Nothing could be scan until the cashiers click on the alerts. If the shoes are mis-matched, then it's Ross' fault. Their employees failed to do their job whether it was the stockroom's or the service desk's fault.
It's all about the money! Marcie of HR department said that they don't have money for cashiers, but she lied. If Michaels could afford to have cashiers, then Ross could, too. Ross makes more money than Michaels. Anyone who works in the retail store level are the ones who are being screwed. Meanwhile the managers get big bonuses.
There should always be a customer service person up front. Hopefully you'll get a nice gift card and a major discount for the complaint. Good luck and keep us posted.
I agree with the customer. You can return anything at Ross even if there wasn't any price tags on it. They usually say that whenever they get "suspicious" about the customers. Actually when I was working in the service desk, I accepted the old returns even though they bought the items years ago. They're usually markdown to a $0.49 price. Remember the customers are always right.
I remembered the days when Ross demanded that the markdown team must scan 12, 000 units a day. With four people in the markdown team, it was hard work with mininum pay.
I also "heard" many negative things about Annmarie Lombardi. We should do something about this. Maybe a lawsuit against Ross because of Annmarie's way of treating her managers. To the original poster, you are not alone with this. I know one employee who was so great at being a manager and all of a sudden, Annemarie gave him a lousy assessment. Before Annemarie, he had a good assessment. But now, he is messed up and it's all because of Annmarie and Ross for keeping her in the company. I'll let my friend know about this. I hope he'll contact you.
When Ross had their annual meeting, Ross didn't want unions in their stores. I truly believe if there was a union at Ross, they would stop treating their employees like trash. They also would not get away with breaking the laws.
