To the "former store manager" who said you felt DIRTY for working there. I too am an employee of the company and have worked with Men's Wearhouse for 61/2 years. It def must be the region you are from because it is NOT like that where I am in Ohio. YES mistakes happen! They happen anywhere you go! But for you to be a former employee and talk bad about such a GREAT company is RIDICULOUS. I have a tuxedo manager that would bend over backwards for our tuxedo customers! And to the very first lady that commented on the tux being available just the day before the wedding. That is def wrong (which others have stated) because it is ALWAYS guaranteed 2 DAYS BEFORE THE EVENT! Unless you come in 3 days before to get fitted. All I have to say is, obviously as a company we are doing something right if we own 80% of the tuxedo business and have over 1, 000 stores nationwide! Yeah you'll have those employee's here and there that mess up, but who has never made a mistake? It happens people! We really are a good company, and I am proud to call myself a Men's Wearhouse employee =)
I am an employee of the Men's Wearhouse. And our product DOES match David's Bridal! But it's our RENTAL product! NOT items that you can PURCHASE and keep. Sometimes you'll luck out and find a tie that matches or something. I have called the David's Bridal down the street from us SEVERAL times and asked them to QUIT telling people that our purchase product matches their colors! Because we have customer's that some in upset bc they want to buy something that matches and they can only rent it. SO the problem does NOT fall on the Men's Wearhouse side, you can hate us all you want, but it's David's Bridal that need to specify and tell the customer the correct thing. And STAN what does the salesperson being 18 have to do with anything? Yeah I don't doubt that maybe they didn't have it all together, but I have worked with this company for over 6 years, and I started when I was 18. So the age doesn't really matter, it was probably the person's personality or their knowledge (or lack there of) of our product!
I work for a Men's Wearhouse in Ohio and I can ASSURE you that it is not a COMPANY problem, the experience's you both had sound like a problem at the store level with those certain employee's not taking their job seriously or even knowing what the heck their doing! Our company has over 1, 000 stores nationwide! So of course not EVERY customer is going to have a fabulous experience EVERY time. That is def the goal though! SO I apologize on behalf of whatever employee's or store you have been to that made your experience so bad!
To "concerned customer", I am a Men's Wearhouse employee in Ohio, and have worked with the company for over 6 years... You actually paid MUCH less to "buy" the 2T tuxedo! They are priced at $69.99 for the complete outfit (except shoes) and our tuxedo rental's range from $119.99-$159.99. So you should be HAPPY that you HAD to buy the tux bc you spent alot less AND you got to keep it! And also, about the return date of the tux being the day after, that is the SAME for ANY tux place you rent from! My son was just a ring bearer in a wedding and the bride went with President's Tuxedo. His tux cost $130.00 to rent and it ALSO was due back the DAY AFTER. BUT, they charge $25.00 for a late fee, while we only charge $20.00! It just drives me nuts when people knock us without knowing the policies of other tuxedo companies! Our policies and prices are actually better! We own 80% of the tuxedo business so I know that we will obviously have more complaints since we work with WAY more customers on a daily basis. I didn't say any of this to knock ya! Just wanted to clarify the reality of your situation and that its actually alot better than you perceive. Oh, and you had also mentioned how you had to drive 4 hours to return the tux to make sure it was back the day after, did the employee's at whatever store you went to inform you that you can return the tux at ANY Men's Wearhouse location? It does NOT have to be returned at the store you picked it up at! And if the nearest one to you is 4 hours away (which is highly unlikely bc we have 1, 000 stores nationwide). Then I guess you would just have to pay the late fee and drop it off Monday. Also (just for future reference) you can ask them for an "extended rental" which gives you a couple days after to drop it off free of charge! Just an FYI. =)
