Why is it that every time somebody says they have a bad experience at one of these stores, they want the manager fired? How would you feel if you worked there and Becky had the same complaint on you and wanted you fired?

Handwritten signs like that are prohibited. If there's such a rule like that, it should be verbally communicated to someone only if someone enters the store like that.
The cashier didn't do anything wrong. She took your money, handed you your change. Transaction over. Instead you wanted to hold up her line digging out your change and cause a scene when you didn't get your way. I'm sure they'll be happy if you never go back there again.
