I placed an order on June 17, 2007 and it is now July 7, 2007 and have not gotten my merchandise or any communication as to where it is. I just e-mailed them an inquiry and I am not so sure they will answer, and I am not holding my breath. Their ridiculous order status page has said the same thing "paid--approved." What the heck that really means I don't know. They have these lengthy explanations as to what these order status things mean but they are just words. Like Lily-monet, I wish I had read these complaints before I placed an order. I paid through Paypal so hopefully I can get my money back through them. Their site is just absurd, with all their excuses, such as if you pay by Paypal they don't always get notice that you paid so if you don't get anything it is your responsibility to contact them and tell them you placed an order--HUH? To me, it is the company's responsibility to make sure that they can get prompt notice of payment, especially if the payment is instant payment such as Paypal. Another lame excuse is that they don't get all their e-mails because of spam so if you don't get an answer to your e-mail then its not their fault. Um, quick fix to that--change your e-mail address Hands n Paws! These are all indications of Hands n Paws' crappy customer service and I should have known better than to place an order so now I am stuck. Hands n Paws is probably run by one 75-year old lady out of her basement as far as we know. THE OTHERS ARE RIGHT - STAY AWAY FROM HANDS N PAWS! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!
Hi, I am the original poster for this complaint, and I just want to add that if anyone doesn't believe that was the actual e-mail reply I got from Hands N Paws, I would be happy to forward to you the original reply I got. Thanks, and good luck!
Although I agree with the OP that sizing is unreliable, this fact applies to virtually ALL clothing brands. Sizing is notoriously unreliable for both clothing and shoes, and one can't rely just on numbers alone. It is one of the hazards of online/catalog/mail order shopping. Sometimes you have to return things. I can't believe the OP took the time to post this "complaint." It sounds like she is just disgruntled because she now wears size Large instead of a Medium. It could have just been the style she picked (the OP didn't elaborate; was it a classic fit or a more modern fitted style?). Alot of clothing companies are scaling their sizes larger (for example, a size 6 now was actually a size 10 years ago) to make customers feel better. The OP's experience doesn't seem to fit this trend, so I am guessing the style she purchased happened to have a more trim cut. I am always buying things and sending them back, especially since I wear hard-to-find sizes (2 petite/xs, and size 5-5.5 shoe), and it goes with the territory. I suggest using the companies that have free returns, those are the best!
Okay, you are a doctor--we get it. As if pHDs do not ever bounce checks. Whatever. All that aside, let me remind you that a store is not under any obligation to accept checks--they are not legal tender. TJ Maxx is probably doing this to protect you. Your personal information may have been compromised by their system and now their new system I am guessing is trying to prevent subsequent fraudulent transactions. You mentioned this happened twice--why on earth didn't you just pay with cash after the first incident? Especially after you "burst into tears?" Put things into perspective: aren't you even grateful that you have "suffered no ill effects" after possibly having your information stolen? I cannot believe someone can be such a drama queen, to complain about something like this. I have solutions for you! 1.) Don't shop at TJ Maxx. 2.) Pay with cash. It is so simple. No more holding up the line, no more crying fits in public. I am having a hard time figuring out why you even need to shop at TJ Maxx, you have a pHD so obviously you can afford to pay full retail right? Also: I wouldn't be so quick to claim that you have "suffered no ill effects." It is suspicious that your checks are all of a sudden being declined. I would investigate with the three credit bureaus.
I must admit, I don't know how anyone can manage to spend as much money as you do at TJ Maxx. I've been to one a couple of times and I can find nothing worth buying--99.9% crap. I think I might have bought a pair of socks once.
Another thought: TJ Maxx is a large company, and if you aren't spending your "couple of thousands of dollars" at their stores they are not going to be hurting. I can spend that much buying 2 handbags at one time. That kind of loss is not going to hurt them. Just get over it.
Sincerely,
Not A pHD, Just A BS
Did you file a Paypal claim for non-receipt of goods? They will have to refund your money then because if they gave you a bogus tracking # they can't prove it was shipped or received by you. Good luck.
Thom Mcan shoes are cheap cr*p; what did you expect? You pay for what you get!
Ok Dean the Brainiac, if you bothered to read the OP, you would have realized that it was written by a woman, not a "guy, " or a "he." Unless you are seriously calling women "guys"...but judging from the grammar and usage in your post I would not be surprised. I suggest you go get a GED, then come back and post something coherent ("..hang out on Ebay..?" What the heck are you talking about?). So tell me how was the good Dr Postlethwaite "screwed"? I repeat: checks are NOT legal tender, retailers do NOT have to accept them. Yes, her feelings were hurt, but how does that translate into TJ Maxx being wrong and a terrible evil institution in this matter? She would have had no problems whatsoever had she just used cash. I guess she was too busy being mortified to figure that one out. Dean, I agree with you on one thing though, it "don't" (LOL) matter whether she is a PhD or not, and THAT WAS MY POINT. Nowhere in my previous post did I say she deserved unjust treatment because she had a PhD. You misunderstood almost everything I said. It was was the OP herself who emphasized that she is PhD, implying that somehow her checks should be trusted more than people sans PhDs. I stated that the contrary was true. You directing your bitterness at the wrong person, so therefore you Dean, are the idiot/###/###. You can't even read something and comprehend it correctly. How unfortunate for you.
