PDA Plaza Canada Review: Buyer Beware - Negative Experience with iPhone XR Purchase and Refund Process
Bought an Iphone XR 64GB A1984 for $698.24 from PDAPlaza Canada on April 22,2020. Was excited to get my hands on it until May 16, 2020, when PDA Plaza charged my credit card for $698.24. As an average person, I didn't suspect anything fishy until May 21, when I emailed PDA Plaza about the order and when it would be shipped. They replied on the same day that it would be shipped by the end of the month. I was slightly disappointed as the shipping policy stated 15 to 25 days, but I still had faith.
I emailed them back on the same day about the shipping policy, and they replied it would be shipped by May 27. I was thrilled and eagerly waited for my order. However, things did not go according to plan, and on May 27, I emailed PDA Plaza about the status of the order. Lo and behold, they replied, "Thank you for your purchase. We expect to receive and ship your order Monday. I apologize for the delay." I was extremely agitated at this point as I had waited longer than the advertised delivery time.
Finally, on June 1, I lost my patience and emailed PDA Plaza about getting a complete refund since I did not receive an email confirming the product's shipment. They replied, "Thank you for your purchase. I apologize for the delay. No problem, I contacted my account manager. The refund will happen within 72 hours." At this point, I was about to lose it. But, want can a mere mortal do?
It is now June 6, and I'm still waiting for an email confirming that my refund has been sent. BUYER BEWARE, unless you have the patience of a saint and can tolerate a longer wait then what they advertise, 15 to 25 days, then buy elsewhere! Unfortunately, I do not have that much patience. They have collected my money and now will take as much time as they do to ship a phone to refund my money!
I have now lost all hope and contacted PayPal, but PDA Plaza hasn't replied, even to them. I have to wait 20 days, according to PayPal, for them to respond. If they don't within the 20 days, PayPal will "investigate"! I have also contacted my credit card company. They will take somewhere between 15 to 30 days to respond and hopefully refund the full amount to my credit card.
In hindsight, I should have been more vigilant, but as an average person, I did not expect such a poor experience. So, if you plan on buying anything from PDA Plaza, I would advise you to rethink your decision.
