On 11/5/18 I got an "alert" on my computer purporting to be from Microsoft that my computer had been "blocked" due to a virus and that I should not turn it off as that would compromise the whole Microsoft Network. A 888 number was given to contact Microsoft to correct the problem. Foolishly I fell for the scam to the tune of 199.99 to repair and remove the virus. After a lengthy conversation with a person with an Indian accent, I was directed to someone at PCFix.com who was described as a sub-contractor (Level V Technician) for Microsoft. After reading other reviews concerning these people, I am convinced that I was scammed. Immediately turn off computer when this message is received especially if they agree to a lower price for the repair (I went from 499.99 to 199.00 for a one time fix). Don"t do It !!
