Paradigm Treatment Centers

Insurance fraud. They didn't give me my money back from BlueCross BlueShield like they were supposed to. My kid was at Paradigm Malibu for almost 50 days from June 3 to July 20. I paid for everything upfront on June 3rd and again on July 5th. The insurance company paid Paradigm Malibu over 120 days ago. Paradigm's billing people, including ***, ***, and *** have told me many times since December (that's 6 months!) that I would get my money back. On May 15th, I talked to *** and she said they owed me over $*** and would send it to me the next week. On May 21st, *** said the accountant was on vacation but would approve it right away. On May 26th, *** said there was no payment pending and wanted to talk to me to "fix this."

I sent my child to Paradigm Treatment for mental health support on July 6. I paid $42,000 by wire on July 5 for 35 days of treatment. On July 7, my son ran away through an open window. My brother picked him up on the same day and my son was officially discharged then. Paradigm is telling me it could take up to 6 months for my money to be refunded. The $42,000 I paid is all I have to treat my son, who is still in crisis. I need my money back to help him. Paradigm says the refund can take 6 months due to the 'claims adjudication process,' but my insurance wasn't accepted there as I have no out-of-network benefits, so there are no claims to adjudicate. My son was there for less than a day. I'm willing to pay for one or two days, but holding onto nearly $40,000 from a family with a child in crisis seems unnecessarily harsh and not in line with the values of a mental health provider. It's been almost three weeks since discharge. I urgently need my refund processed immediately. Thanks for your assistance.

I paid Paradigm for my kid's treatment and they filed an insurance claim to get paid twice. They won't fix it and it's not the first time they did this. They took my money upfront and still took the insurance money. They should have fixed it fast if it was a mistake. I have proof of everything. My kid was there for 30 days and we paid everything upfront. They took our insurance info and submitted claims in May. In July, the claims showed as paid but I never got the money. I tried to fix it from August to October but they were slow and didn't help me. They promised to follow up but didn't. They didn't respond to my insurer's calls and they didn't respond to me either. They have my money and won't give it to me. Be careful with them.
