This review was chosen algorithmically as the most valued customer feedback.

I received an email on 7-14-22 stating that Norton was charging my credit card for a 36-month renewal of a Norton Mobil Security plan that I did not even have! Included in the e-mail was a number to call in order to cancel the charge. I called the number and the "representative" explained that I needed to "connect my devices" before he could cancel the subscription (that I never sign up for). He told me to open my computer and he would "walk me through the steps". I refused to let him in my computer and so he told me that there was nothing he could do to cancel the charge and my fraudulent subscription. I explained that I would be reporting this to the police, the BBB, and Consumer Protection Agency and he told me to go ahead and try that. Then I hung up and called my credit cards to warn them of the upcoming fraudulent charge. Then I decided to find a 'real' Customer Service phone number. I tried the number on their website but, when I dialed the number, a different number came up. I went through this several times, always with the same results. I finally called a Customer Service number from one of Norton's sites. A person answered and, when I explained why I was calling, he hung up on me. It appears that all of Norton's sites and customer service numbers are fraudulent. Beware of this company!

Country of complaint: United States

Desired outcome: I would like a refund if the charge goes through. I would also like an explanation for these fraudulent phone numbers and fraudulent customer service representatives trying to access to my computer. Please respond.
