Do not adopt an animal from this organization. They are running a scam and will waste your time and steal your money.
This "non profit" organization ran us through the entire adoption process, told us we were going to pick up our new family member tomorrow all the way in calgary, with no notice whatsoever, even discussed how we will pay the adoption fee, had an inspector come to our house and tell us that everything was good, and that we were cleared to pick her up. We were so excited to pick her up and bring her home, then they called us a few hours before we left for calgary to tell us that we were turned down because our animals were overweight. We were told during the inspection that everything was fine, and the inspector was very friendly and excited for us to adopt.
I don't have a problem with them turning us down, but I am very upset that they let us get this far in the process, clear us to pick her up, and then turn around and tell us we can't adopt, hours before we'd have to leave for calgary, because our animals are fat. None of our animals are overweight, except for our one 14 year old cat.
Upon looking online we found out that these criminals actually get people to go all the way to the airport, and then drop all of the importation fees on the adopters. These are generally $500+. Who knows what happens to these animals when the adopters don't have $900 to adopt a dog that they claim to be "by donation". They're just left there at the airport, and it's disgusting that they're getting away with this. Not only does this $500+ fee occur at the airport after they make your drive for 13 hours, but they also charge $350+ for the adoption fee. Do not support these criminals under any circumstances. You will be scammed. Disgusting.
