My daughter was, until today, being taught swimming privately at our condominium by a female teacher from Nemo Academy in Kuala Lumpur. Each swimming lesson my daughter was accompanied by a nanny, so she was never alone (thank goodness). I have several concerns.
Firstly, I don't believe the teachers are properly qualified. My daughter doesn't appear to made any progress despite many lessons, and in fact, seems sometimes afraid of the water. The teachers methods are unprofessional and indicate a dislike of children that shows through each lesson.
Secondly, the female teacher alters the schedule without informing parents. When questioned over sending an SMS for another change in timetable today this particular teacher reacted with appalling and unwarranted rudeness, as if it was not the right of the parent to be informed. My question is why?
Thirdly, the female teacher was accompanied throughout each lesson by a male (presumably her husband) who was watching intently throughout the entire lesson. Inappropriately.
I have no wish to make waves, only to vent my frustration at wasting money on useless teaching. I would highly discourage any parent from using this academy for teaching their children. There are major concerns here with this team.

The complainant, an Australian woman staying in KL, Malaysia was actually told by
us that we no longer want to conduct swimming lessons for her daughter
because she was rude and had scolded my coach. We do not tolerate arrogant parents
and espeacially people like her by telling my coach that her english is not good or at par to her and thinking she is more superior to the locals here. She is upset and this is why she wanted to complain to tarnish our reputation here. This is defamation. We would like to put the facts here.
1. We are a registered Swimming Academy.
2. The coach is fully certified from the National Swimming Association.
3. The duration for a student to be able swim depend on individual ability.
4. As a parent, they would know and understand their child behaviour.
5. Sometime we have to be stern in order to teach a child who is always playful. This don't mean we dislike children.
5. The complainant have many times change the time or skip lessons. It's okay, we try to accomodate. When we request to change the time or day, we are deem as unproffesional ?
6. We have always tried to communicate with her but sometimes she does not reply or is away overseas. So we will then inform the nanny the schedule so that she will let her employer know.
7. To go that low to say that I always accompany my partner to the classes and " who was watching intently throughout the entire lesson" is uncalled for. I am part of the management of the Academy. These are deformatory remarks that can be liable for legal address.
