Just when I thought we were through with these shady jokers, NOPE. Ok so they 1st went behind our backs to a county we do not live in to get a lien against my car, and a garnishment over an OLD bill. These shady characters will wait until right at the 7 yr mark, and they will pounce on you like a rabid animal. Well they had put a lien on my car, which might I add had ZERO to do with the car that they were trying to collect on from 2002. Well since 1/2 of my husbands pay was being garnished thanks to the shady jokers, we had no choice but to file for chapter 7 in early 2010. Part of the chapter 7 was that the lien on my car would be dropped. Well guess what? We just sold the car, because it's basically not running. We just sold it for what we could get out of it. The person whom we sold it to went to the county tag office, only to be told there is still a lien on the title. WHAT? Nemdegelt INC was suppose to release that almost a year ago, but this does not surprise me with all of the hell this one company put my family through. People beware of this company. I hope none of you ever have to deal with these liars and crooks. They go behind your backs and file cases against you in counties which you do not even live in, and they never have you served either. They are notorious for doing this as I have found out with a little online search of this company. A Sherrod P Robin is the attorney who works for this shady company out of Metter Ga. They also were somehow able to get a judgement for over $17, 000 on a $4, 500 owed bill. YEP!

In 2003 I got a car from Drivetime, soon after the car's transmission went out. Luckily it was still under warranty with Kia but DriveTime wouldn't help me. Kia replaced the transmission. later I lost my job and the car was repossed. Nemdegelt INC., put this on my credit, for 3000.00. So I faxed and mailed them letters asking if we could reach an agreed upon amount since I didn't have that kind of money. They went to civil court and got a judgement against me for 8600.00, that was in 2008, 2 years before it should have dropped off my credit. Now here it is 2013, 5 years later and they have issued a garnishment against me in another county for 22, 000.00 And the sad thing is there seems to be nothing I can do. I sent channel 11 in Atlanta a complaint to their investigative department but I don't think anything will come of it.

You can always file bankruptcy to stop garnishments (among most other civil proceedings), as well as potentially being able to discharge the underlying debt. A chapter 7 bankruptcy is ideally suited for this. You do need to make less than median income for your household size (and locality--e.g. New York has a way higher threshold than somewhere else) to "auto-qualify", but even if you make a little more (within a few thousand) than this threshold, you can often still qualify for chapter 7 by claiming the appropriate allowable deductions in whats called the "means test." You can thank the 2005 class of Republicans, and their fascist-in-chief Bush Jr., for this gem (that is, means testing/qualifications limits/test for potential chapter 7 filers).

You should consult with your local bankruptcy attorney to determine if you can qualify for relief from stuff like this. Maybe not, but oftentimes they will do a free consultation so you will know beforehand (before potentially filing), at least what your options are that you might not have known about, so even if you don't have options like you thought, confirming this should only cost a little of your time.
