Mercedes Benz of Jackson, Ms & Mercedes USA review: Mercedes Benz 2014 GL 450

My husband and I purchased a 2014 Mercedes Benz GL 450 in April of 2017, the car had 38,762 miles on it.

Outside of normal maintenance the car started to have a few problems, October 3rd of 2019 we were told the car had a Leaking Coolant System? This repair cost us $3,133.22. April 23,2022 we took the car in for a tune up, the cost of the tune up was $843.70.

On May 22nd of 2022 we took the car back to Mercedes because it was burning oil, they claim to have done an inspection which cost us another $435.67.

Our vehicle continued to burn oil, we took the car back to Mercedes Benz of Jackson, Ms. They kept the vehicle for a few days, Brady Barnett of Mercedes called my husband and told him, the vehicle needed an engine repair of which the cost would be $38,945.00. My husband asked if we could trade the car Mr Barnett told him no within mine this vehicle had 90,328 miles on it. We were told by another employee that we should speak with the general manager. As desperate as my husband and I were, we accepted his $12,000 offer for our vehicle. We purchased a smaller vehicle, since then we found out the vehicle we traded had a factory defected engine. According to research the price to repair was to be $14,000.00, we had no idea as to how the dealer came up with $38,945.00 for the repair. My husband and I feel as though the dealer continued to charge us for repairs that were not being made and they were misdiagnosing the problem.

Our only request is for both parties the dealer and manufacture take ownership for misrepresentation of vehicle. My husband and I would like for them to refund to us the monies we spent in repairs so we may purchase a car comparable to the one we had.
