I have asked, twice now, for the details of 2 profiles thta have come to my attention that were either profiles were passed on from Flirt or Fling.com or perhaps taken (without my consent) I have asked them to clarify:
Where they got my information from;
Whom gave them the permission to use my information & photographs;
Whom has been sending out messages to unsuspecting men;
Last login and sign up date;
Logs of All communications from both accounts
Given their refusal to provide the information the hold about me and my profiles they are breaching section 7 of the Data Protection Act - Subject Access Request. I have advised that I have a right to ask that all of the information held about me ie the profiles, are erased (after the information is given) across the board as this is causing unwarranted and substantial damage and distress and has ruined my relationship & reputation! I have never signed up with those sites at all and i tried, on the off chance, to login to try to erase them, but the sites do not even recognise the email address that i have used for the past decade!. I can only surmise they have illegally taken my information & photographs from past sites and are obviously using them to make the site seem more active!They are a scam site and one which is unscrupulously sending messages to unsuspecting men.
These accounts where not showing up earlier this year, in google search, as i had done a search and found nothing at all using the screen name, yet were showing up from approximately July when my o.h searched again, so something is amiss.How can the accounts just suddenly appear in searches without me signing up to them?They have also taken bits out, by the looks of it, and switched the usernames and descriptions about!
I know messages are being sent out as my (now ex thanks to them) boyfriend searched the username id used in the past (when we met) as i said and found me, then told me but when i looked there was nothing because the site page had expired (as was over a yr old, thus proving the account was not active - name cleared for me>:( ) then he searched again weeks later to clarify and found "me" on these sites, so he signed up to try catch "me" out and got automated replies, which he (stupidly) thought were me! Two of them of which i have a screenshot of! How does this system work? It is conning men into thinking they are speaking to bonafide active accounts and destroying relationships and reputations into the bargain! By using the information and pictures without my consent and sending out auto-replies AND not giving its "victims" (me and god knows how many other poor ladies out there) the option to delete the profile! And ignoring requests into the bargain!Are they not also breaking the law? As it is illegal to distribute, post or share it without my permission. That can mean anything from texting it to another person or posting it on a website, which could mean you are breaking 2 laws, 1997 Protection from Harassment Act & the Malicious Communications Act 1988.
I have contacted the sites i initially signed up with to back in Fling in 2010 and Flirt in 2013, the latter of whom have cancelled the only profile i had with them, and issued an apology but have failed to provide further info on whom they distributed my information/profiles to. the other has also failed to respond! I can only surmise they are sister companies if the "hookup" sites have both accounts, which again 1 of each were from fling and flirt!) What can i do? Im seriously hurt, angry, frustrated and stressed out to the max because of this. It has caused me no end of problems, cost me my relationship, some of my friends, and its not just affected me but my family too!
