Livejournal (a Russian social media platform) review: Deletion of my account from this scam site's journal.

In June 2023, I subscribed with the Livejournal platform and made a few posts one of which was critical of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. A little while later, the journal messaged me to say that my account was suspended because of a violation which they did not identify.

They said that they would continue to host my account on their server for 1 year with the public notice: "This account is suspended because of a violation" until I paid them around $US500 for a premium account when they would delete the account if I wished. When I messaged them that I was not happy with that and that they should delete my data from their server, they said that Russian law allows them to do what they want with my data until I pay.

I wrote to the Russian regulator in July this year, but have not heard back from them.

It seems Livejournal is a Russian political site which is dedicated to scamming Americans who support Ukraine's fight against Russian tyranny. My advice is that Americans who support freedom should terminate their account (if they can) with Livejournal as sooner or later (for sure) they will become its scam victims.
