I put in a deposit on a used vehicle, before picking up the vehicle I changed my mind after talking to a few friends and them telling me their bad experience with bruce kirkland the GM. I talked to the used car manager and he said he doesn't have the authority and that I would have to talk to the GM. I go talk to the GM who was ignorant and rude. He would not give me back my $500 even though the vehicle was still on their lot. I am a student but he did not care he just cared about the $500 that isn’t a lot to a company but is huge to a full-time student.

A deposit cannot be held by the dealership. It violates the Free Trade Act of Alberta, specifically Sec. 4 which covers Motor Vehicle issues. I suggest you call AMVIC (Alberta Motor Vehicle Industry Comission) and file a complaint with them. Then, call the Edmonton Police Service or visit the West Division Police HQ (its close to the lexus dealership) and file a theft report and false pretense report with them.
