My husband and I rent a lot and own our mobile home
My husband and I rent a lot and own our mobile home. We have an ongoing issue with our neighbors encroaching on our lot and being loud. We contacted the property manager to ask about lot boundaries and noise ordinances. These questions were ignored. When pressed, she told us to measure 50 feet in either direction from the middle of our trailer and that's how much space we should have at either end. Simple math dictates that we should have about 20 feet of space in either direction (our trailer is approx. 61 feet long). Instead of doing math, she offered to come out and measure. She showed up on site with nothing to measure with; she planted herself in a random spot and declared it 50 feet. My husband disagreed, produced a tape measure, proved her wrong, and then she proceeded to reduce our 20 feet of space to between 2.5 - 5 feet at either end. She declared that most of our lot is "common space", so the neighbors have been enjoying a good portion of the lot we pay rent on. They are still loud, park outside our bedroom, keep us *** at night, wake us *** in the morning, had a barking puppy outside all week, etc. We just got notice of another lot rent increase, so that we can pay even more money for the neighbors to invade our space and annoy us. We're not asking for the moon and the stars; we want access to the entire lot we pay for, we want the neighbors to stop trespassing, and we want them to keep the loud music inside their home rather than outside of it. I contacted FL *** of *** to obtain detailed diagrams of the spaces being rented; the neighbors are very clearly on our lot. This was always a peaceful place to live until this obnoxious family moved in next to us; now we're stressed out all the time, because we don't have peaceful enjoyment of our property. Often, it feels like our neighbors are inside our bedroom with us. If they're going to hang out on our space, it's only fair they should be paying part of our rent.
