I have serious concerns regarding Paul and Tonya Winfield based on my direct experiences and information shared with me by their daughter, Nia.
Nia has told me that there is a history of domestic conflict in her household and that she feels unsafe and anxious around her parents. On one occasion, I was on a call with Nia while she was driving when her mother, Tonya, struck her, nearly causing a car accident. Nia has described multiple instances of physical and emotional mistreatment by her mother.
Due to ongoing issues at home, Nia felt unable to remain in her parents’ house and eventually left because she could not cope with the environment. She also told me that her bedroom door was removed by her parents as a form of control or punishment, which contributed to her distress.
During this period, Nia experienced severe emotional distress and expressed suicidal thoughts, including threatening self-harm using an iPhone cable. These events indicated to me that the home environment was unsafe and deeply affecting her mental health.
Based on what I have personally witnessed and what Nia has disclosed to me, I have serious concerns about Paul and Tonya Winfield’s behaviour and judgment. In my view, they are not individuals I would consider safe or appropriate to be around children.
