Recently did a trip with KE Travel and it was a disaster. It sounded cheap but you get what you pay for. This is a british firm and almost all the other clients and the staff were british. They made it know that they did not care at all for Americans on the trip. The trip was in Nepal. We never got enough food -- you would think they could make enuf rice or potatoes. The poor porters were way way overloaded. At the british trip leader was on his own personal holiday. He cared more about his ipod than the guests. Every time someone asked about a vlllage, he said, I dont know, i have never been here before. he was a waste of space. The british all kept to themselves, even at meals, and made us feel like outcasts. One of the Canadians on the trip mentioned that the service complaints had gotten so bad, the whole staff in the US office quit and the company could not find anyone in the US to work with them.
I have just returned from a trek in Nepal with this Company. Not very helpful in dealing with customer complaints at all. Just a fob off and excuses. From the original booking they put the price up by £100. From the original booking they changed the hotels in Kathmandu and Pokhara. They claim in their brochure you can walk around the Lake? The Lake was a 40 minute walk from the hotel they changed us to and the guide strongly advised us against walking to the Lake anyway. They claimed that all meals were included. The first night at the Hotel in Kathmandu, the manager said that meals were certainly NOT included. I had a very embarassing argument with him over this. I read the email the Kathmandu guide was given, the remit stated TAKE THEM SOMEWHERE CHEAP AND CHEERFUL TO EAT Mmmmm When I complained, all I got was excuses and claims that the hotels they put us in were as good as the original ones, and all things were subject to change, including the price? I have trekked many places with many Companies. KE Adventures has to be the worst one ever. I would never go with them again, neither would I recommend them to anyone
