Kama Central Park Hostel review: Denied entry upon arrival after already having paid

I made a reservation for a room for two people for a total of three nights through Expedia. Despite receiving a text message confirmation, I never received an email. Upon arriving at the hostel around 12 midday, the receptionist asked us to wait in the lounge area while she accessed our booking information. She then informed us that check-in would not be until 4pm, despite our booking indicating a 3pm check-in time. After waiting for what felt like an hour, my sister approached the receptionist to inquire about our check-in status. We were informed that only one person was booked for the room and that only one of us could check-in. We explained that the reservation was for two people and that we didn't mind sharing the room. The receptionist said she would consult with her manager. After waiting for over an hour, we followed up with the receptionist, who maintained that only one person was paid for. We expressed our exhaustion and requested either a refund or to be allowed to check-in together. The receptionist said she would speak to her manager, who was off duty. After another lengthy wait, we were told that a refund had been processed and would appear in my account within five days. Disheartened, rejected, and freezing cold, we left the hostel at 3:45pm. At that point, we were willing to pay anything for a place to rest, but the option was never presented to us. It has been 10 days since this ordeal, and I have yet to receive the promised refund. In light of this experience, I kindly request a refund of the amount I paid to the hostel.
