Vehicle was towed to Kal Tire on May 13, 2026 with diagnostic set for May 15th for overheating problem. Was told a new coolant system was required, but could not be done until May 25th. Received call on 25th and made arrangements to pick up vehicle on 26th as I live 1/2 hour outside of St. Paul in rural community. I was told on the 26th, after waiting 2 hours, that the car was not ready and there were codes coming up they were trying to figure out. Between May 26th and June 5 (10 days) all contact was initiated by me and there were no answers until the 5th when I was told I needed a new engine, which would be installed on June 15th. On June 17, again contact was initiated by me as I had expected to have my car back by the 16th at the latest, I was told there were still issues and the mechanics/manager were working with the company that provided the engine and they would keep me up to date. On June 22nd I was told my car was ready and I made arrangements to pick it up on the 23rd. When I arrived I was given my bill, which I paid in full, $8,537.13, but after waiting for over an hour, I could not help but notice that my car was still in the shop with the hood still up. After confronting the management, I was told there were still some issues and was offered a ride home. I waited a week with no contact from management. On June 30th I called and got the same response, "working with engine company". Finally, on July 9th I received an email telling me my car was ready. I attended on July 11th to pick it up. I knew the minute I started the car, something was wrong. By the time I was 1/2 way across town, I was sure and stopped at the Dodge dealership to book an appointment for July 13th to diagnose why my car was chugging like it wanted to stall out after all the work that had just been done on it. In 4 hours their mechanic advised the B1-S1 sensor was malfunctioning, likely due to contamination of or damage to this sensor and provided me with an estimate for the replacement of this sensor.
Claimed loss: $7,000.00 for engine and labour$900.00 for diagnosis and replacing affected sensor
Desired outcome: I would ask the owner to this store to contact me to discuss the situation
