Jon Wayne Service Company review: Electrical dept

Well, where do I start? One thing is for sure, after reading the complaints about Jon Wayne, I can see why the electrician David Chavana priced the electrical work way up in the clouds. I am a female senior citizen & their customer since 2008 & he still tried to take advantage of me!

On 7 Oct 2025, all I had asked for was to get was an inspection of my GFCI in my garage because it had shut off once before. At that time, I thought my previous refrigerator had died, but it turns out the GFCI had shut off. I later found out the refrigerator was okay, however, I had already purchased another one.

I told David Chavana what had occurred & needed to find out if the GFCI needed replacement. After several hours, he inspected my whole home's electrical outlets, allegedly, he found that my garage electrical panel was obsolete, all my electrical plus GFCI outlets needed replacement for a total of $23,476.80 after giving $5,719.20 member savings! Imagine $29,196.00 total!

I did look at the notes on the invoice and it stated my home was 3500 square feet; I told him that was wrong and he stated he had to do that because the workers were going to have to move some of the furniture to replace all of the electrical & GFCI outlets & he had to place the extra charge somewhere. But if I moved the furniture myself, the estimate would be less. (BUT it turns out the electrical & GFCI outlets are okay & don't need replacement! DO YOU ALL SEE THE PATTERN? PRICE GAUGING!)

Concerned, I spoke with my neighbors who recommended Mr. Electric who came the next day, gave me an itemized estimate of $3780.00. The replacement of the garage panel was not necessary because it was okay plus all of the electrical & GFCI outlets were okay & not obsolete. The replacement of the electrical panel, would have added $6512.00 to the amount.

My main complain was I didn't receive an itemized invoice; just a total amount of the above mentioned. (I am a retired Insurance Claims Adjuster & all claims require an itemized invoice to pay the damages.) I called Jon Wayne, asked for management so I could receive an itemized invoice & as of today, 10 Oct 2025, I have yet to receive a call. By the reviews I read, I'm glad I am not holding my breath because management doesn't return calls. Mr. Electric will get the work done next week.

I did receive text messages asking for a review & I gave them one with the total truth & their response was: "Call us if we can answer any of your questions. I did tell Gwyn @ Jon Wayne that I was really disappointed that I hadn't received an itemized invoice like Mr. Electric had given me plus their electrician David Chavana had price gauged the invoice he gave me & didn't respond to my answers especially when I told her I was going file a complain with Yelp & their review page. I guess they are so used to complaints, Gwyn wasn't concerned about me writing a complaint.
