It's quite possible that Jewson is not aware of the complaints or rarely monitors their existence because we find it hard to believe they don't care about their customers. Jewson Delivery

Bought materials from Jewson online to be delivered from Kilmarnock to Largs.

Got confirmation of delivery date when I paid £245 for 3 sheets of MDF.

I phoned Kilmarnock Jewsons on Tuesday 17/05/22 to ask what time roughly delivery would be in Largs on the Thursday 19/05/22. Don't know if we can deliver on that date. Depends if we are busy or not was the reply I got from person I spoke to. Then he said he would phone me in morning to let me know.

No phone call came in the morning so I phoned Kilmarnock Jewsons again and asked if delivery would be at Largs on Thursday.

Don. t know yet I can't get delivery Guys on phone. List not done yet, I will phone to let you know.

I then phoned Customer Srevices to see if they could get this sorted out. I complained and the Guys attitude was theres your money back. No interest whatsoever.

Jewsons took money from my account in a heartbeat and now tell me it will take 5 days to return it to my account.

Don't use these people.

Desired outcome: Money into account immediately.

Jewson Point for materials bought

Hi
I applied for my points before the deadline,
I was told that I would receive a card for curry's with the total amount of £150 which I have not received.
I am a loyal customer who spends a lot of money at your branch in Retford notts.
I am hoping you can resolve the situation.

Jewson Pursue small debt collection no matter the covid & brexit situation or payment proposal made.

Under National Standard pos. 68. Enforcement agents should be aware of circumstances where a "no goods" valuation may be appropriate - for example where no goods of sufficient value have been identified; or where the removal of goods would lead to severe hardship for the debtor. In such instances the enforcement agent should make the creditor aware of this situation.

Under the National Standard pos. 66: Enforcement agents should take all reasonable steps to satisfy themselves that the value of the goods taken into control to cover the sum outstanding is proportional to the value of the debt and fees owed.
Outstanding depth to Jewson 3,746.40 GBP essential machine taken away in current value of 22-25,000 GBP.

National Standards 20:. Enforcement agents must not be deceitful by misrepresenting their powers, qualifications, capacities, experience or abilities:
I was informed misleadingly that a payment plan could not be arranged, only a full payment would be accepted. A payment plan could only be agreed with the agent.

National Standard 57: Enforcement agents should not seek to gain peaceable entry to premises under false pretences;
the Agent said he could not arrange a payment plan, until he was able to see our assets and enter our premisses.
I phoned him after my staff informed me he had arrived, but there was no talk or agreement plan possible, interrupted me continuously, he hung up several times, did not answer the phone, accused me of lying, that I had not spoken with Mr. R., who promised me to send him a message to inform him I was seeking a court suspension or a complaint and he should talk to me. Instead he had decided to take the teleporter or demanded the full amount within the next 20 minutes.

Desired outcome: Assist in setting up a payment plan, return of our teleporter essential for the continuity of our companyand reduce unnecessary added charges.

Jewson Kitchen staff

In this day and age!
Over a month ago I requested a quote from a local jewson's. The kitchen person was polite and responded quickly to my telephone enquiry. Claimed they could easily meet my brief. However, once visiting my home and seeing me (i'm of indian ethnicity) everything went badly from that point onwards and they did everything possible to put me off doing business with them. The quote took over a month to return, the specs were all wrong (after repeated requests, to which my specs never changed once), I was ignored and then pretty much called a liar when challenged them. Although i'm pretty thick skinned, I found the whole experience distressing, especially because this person came into my home and myself and my family was pretty much being told, we don't want your business

Having complained to the store and then escalated, the investigation they conducted appears to be little more than asking the staff member concerned if they feel he acted appropriately and then closing the complaint without offering any evidence.

I would really appreciate it if anyone else has received this type of service if they could let me know or publishes the issue to see if this is isolated or an ongoing incident. You might not have realised what was the underlying reason behind your negative experience!

Jewson death threat from jewsons delivery driver!!!

I recently had one of Jewsons delivery drivers launch a completely unprovoked verbal attack on myself and my elderly grandfather, who I care for.

His idea of customer service was atrocious. He had a childish attitude right from the get-go, he was full of foul language, and when I confronted him to ask if he had a problem, he issued a death threat against me and my family.

Yes, you read that right. He issued a completely unprovoked death threat to a paying customer. The following is a direct quote: "I'm coming round here after my shift to finish you lot off, remember I know where you live now, actions speak louder than words"

Understandably, I found this very disturbing, particularly because 30 seconds before he issued that threat, he have me a lecture on his Military training and how he could "fill me in" in ways I couldn't imagine.

When I spoke to his branch (Andover) they didn't seem to care, I didn't even receive an apology. They said the manager would call me back, but he never did.

The police have been informed and I have made a statement, but I thought others should be made aware of the incident. The delivery driver is based at the Andover branch, his name is Bruce and he is a fairly recognisable chap, short, stout and with an atrocious temper!

Obviously, I will never be using Jewsons again. And given the opportunity, I will be pressing charges against the delivery driver. He is a violent, abusive, horrible piece of work.

Jewson Ripped me off

In 1987 we purchased land in Carmarthen with planning permission, and at the time JEWSON was on TV singing we've got the JEWSON lot; we decided to buy all our building materials off them little did we know what we where letting ourselves in for. In 1987 we bought the slates for the roof with a thirty-year guarantee and sold as permanently black. In 1994 after spending over £26000 with Jewson's, the slates on the roof started going in holes and the colour was coming off, when we reported it to Jewson's they said and I quote, "ONCE WE'VE GOT YOUR MONEY WE DON'T GIVE A F**K". So we put the case in the hands of a solicitor Hew Owen of ungoed Thomas& King who took the case up. In 1999 we phoned Mr D W Thomas operations director for JEWSON'S, who said (I QUOTE "AS LONG AS YOU DON'T FIND OUT WHY WE CHANGED OTHER ROOFS WITH THE SAME COMPLAINT AND YOU TELL THE TRUTH WE DON'T CARE".) Jewson's solicitor a Mr Barr Cleary phoned to say that if I pursued with this case he would sue myself for all the time he has spent on this case. At this point we put notices in our car windows and on our garage doors to tell others the way JEWSON'S where treating us it says STOP LOOK BEFORE YOU BUY ANY BUILDING MATERIALS OFF JEWSON'S COME AND SEE THE RUBBISH THEY SOLD ME I'VE GOT THE JEWSON CRAP with a photo of my roof. When the Jewson manager Mr Robert Cockburn Carmarthen Branch saw the signs on my car he asked us to take them down and he would sort out our roof before he went on holiday on the following Monday and made a list of what materials we needed to change our roof as they where already changing other roofs with the same complaint, that was July 1999(HE LIED). But he did write to us to say that they would PAINT our roof for us (We refused) Then Jewson's offered us £1000 if we dropped the case and take the signs down (That's now been reduced to £500). We wrote to Mr Peter Hindel Jewson managing director in Jan 2000 to tell him about the way we've been treated, and he said (I will arrange to have the matter investigated without delay and be in touch shortly), and that's the last we've heard off him. Our solicitor said if you drop the complaint against Jewson's and accept their offer I will ask Allen Harris (the supplier of slates to Jewsons) to give you some money as well, as he's a friend of mine! We reported OUR solicitor to the supervision of solicitors in May 2000 who said that they would fully investigate the case. In Oct our case was looked at (I won't use the word investigated as they only took 4 hrs to read and find no fault with OUR solicitor, dictate a letter to us, and have his lunch, and phone us). We reported the supervision of solicitors to the ombudsman who said that they had done nothing wrong; they suggested that they should look at the case again. The Supervision of Solicitors refused. I still have the signs on my car and on my garage doors.
