We thought this was a great place for dog boarding in Petaluma. The location looked great, testimonials were so so, some good some bad but we decided we will try it out. By all means do not be deceived when looking for dog boarding in Petaluma, look elsewhere. The employees are great, management is not what so ever at it's a dogs life Petaluma. We left our puppy there for a weekend away, when we returned we found that they had wash her expensive bed with bleach. When brought to the attention of one of their employees that works in the office, she was very apologetic and offered to credit us the amount we paid for the bed towards our next stay. Completely acceptable and thought everyone makes mistakes and our puppy seemed to enjoy herself there. When we returned a month later to pick up our puppy after another weekend away the same girl who offered the credit to us applied it to our billed an we left. To our astonishment the manager or accounting department called the next day and said that the girl that gave us a credit wasn't authorized and we were to pay the amount that was already credited. What's even worse is that they charged our credit card prior to calling and dinged us for the amount without our authorization. The management at It's a dogs life Petaluma refused to refund our money, they felt that they did nothing wrong by washing the bed in bleach and told us that it's not their problem, in addition we later found our that they had written on the bed as well. I was told that the only way they would refund the money is if we returned the bed to them for their use and then we could buy a new one. The refused to accept responsibility for their actions, this makes me question what they would do if there was ever an issue with our dog. It was only after repeated conversations and the threat of a lawsuit that they refunded our money and asked that we never return. For dog boarding in Petaluma I strongly advise any pet owners to look elsewhere when looking for pet boarding in Petaluma or Sonoma County. Foolish Business practices by not admitting fault and moving on. All this headache and stubbornness for $70.00, they would've made this up and much more from us through out the life of our dog.

It's a Dogs life is an awful place to bring dogs! The Owner Karen Doolittle pretends that she owns the kennel because she loves dogs, but she is all about the money. She even breeds non-quality dogs and forces her ### to have too many litters. Her kennel dogs are starving for attention and love because they live there all the time and don't get to go to a good home. Someone really needs to turn the kennel in to someone who can shut them down.
