I am writing to formally document a deeply concerning experience I had during my recent appointment at the Cottonwood Clinic with Dr. Tran. I arrived for a 3:30 PM check-up and to follow up on a letter I received from your office regarding additional testing. Despite arriving on time, I was asked to wait until 3:45 PM to be seen.
From the beginning of the visit, the level of care was substandard. When the nurse took my blood pressure, she asked if I had a history of hypertension. I informed her that I did not, yet she seemed dismissive and stated she would simply tell Dr. Tran and redo it later.
When I finally spoke with Dr. Tran, I attempted to discuss several pressing health concerns, including hormone management related to menopause, itching in my fingertips, persistent sleepiness, and a fluctuating heart rate. Before I could finish explaining my symptoms, Dr. Tran interrupted me, stating that I needed to hurry because we only had 30 minutes for the appointment. I was shocked by this unprofessionalism. It is unacceptable to rush a patient who is trying to provide a necessary medical history. When I expressed that it was unprofessional to proceed without understanding my concerns, she became defensive and suggested I simply make another appointment.
Furthermore, my specific health concerns were dismissed without proper investigation:
Heart and Mental Health: When I mentioned these issues, she dismissed them entirely, suggesting I had "heard it from a chiropractor" rather than treating the concerns as valid medical inquiries.
Headaches and Bloating: Dr. Tran attributed my headaches to "pollution." In reality, I had recently taken a high dose of psyllium to treat constipation, which caused dehydration, bloating, and headaches.
Vital Signs: My blood pressure was recorded at 133/95, a high reading that was never addressed or discussed, despite the stress my body was under.
Because my concerns were ignored, I had to use external resources to interpret my own blood test results, which showed high lipids. I have little confidence that anyone from IHC would have followed up to explain these numbers to me.
Beyond the clinical experience, the facility itself is in poor condition. The walls at the Cottonwood Clinic are scuffed, and the entire area, including the bathrooms, requires a deep cleaning and better maintenance.
I have seen Dr. Tran periodically for years, but her consistent arrogance and lack of helpfulness have reached a breaking point. If IHC pressures doctors to prioritize a 30-minute schedule over the safety and concerns of a patient, it is a sign of systemic negligence. I will not be returning to Dr. Tran, and I hope this feedback prompts a review of the professional standards and facility conditions at this clinic.
