Incredibly poor service. This is essentially like hiring a bad estate agent, just intelligent dont even talk to you or potential interested parties.
They will originally overprice your business (which admittedly I shouldn't have fallen for) but then continue to do nothing other than leave the business advert posted on various websites for people to discover for themselves.
If you do eventually get someone interested they will perhaps contact them over interest of the business every four weeks! This is apparently a standard cycle for what they do but quite frankly is a ridiculous timescale.
I even had my wife enquire about our business in which we heard absolutely nothing in return.
Please avoid using this company, little interest, impossible to get hold of, no actions taken when asked, in essence very little done. No wonder they snapped my hand off for the original marketing fee!
Rip off !

I've recently bought a business through them and found quite the opposite. I've also had bad experiences with agents, but found these particularly helpful and even turned up at a meeting with the seller of my new business to help sort a deal. I guess the way the market works it's good and bad across the board.

I have to agree - I saw a business that I was interested in through IBT. Flagged as having turnover of £442k, gp of £86k and np of £68k. However the turnover is actually £261k, gp £55k and np £15k. I asked the vendor where IBT got their figures and even he doesn't know. The business has already been reduced - but the current asking price makes no sense when looking at np multipliers for bricks and mortar retail. This is the second business through IBT where their particulars do not match reality! They don't like you asking difficult questions - just ignore you leaving you to contact the vendor direct. They selectively answer questions - it's a joke. TBH I've only ever found EMF and Humberstones to do a thorough job both as a buyer and seller - there are a few other - Please avoid using IBT! (And Nationwide Businesses for that matter).
