I verbally agreed to a door to door salesmans representations about Insight's pest control services visits at an agreed price per service for once a quarter for 1 year (4 visits). It was represented that I would be required to complete the 4 service visits within the next year, but that I could cancel at any time. I verbally agreed to that and the salesman stated that they would either mail me or they would bring me a contract to sign before the first service was performed. I received an invoice for $158.24 for services performed. The invoice was dated 4-19-2026. It did not include a date the services supposedly were performed. I called their customer service and asked when the service was supposedly performed. The told me the service was performed on 3-20-2026. I told them my wife and I were retired and we were both home on that date and no one came to our house that we know of. I asked to cancel the contract and that I would not pay them for services not performed. I was transferred to another company representative. She told me the same thing the previous customer representative told me and that I had signed a written contract agreeing to the terms that I canceled I would be required to pay a $100 cancelling fee plus the remainder of the 4 quarterly service visits that would total over $400. I told her I had not recieved or read or signed a contract with those requirements and that I wanted to terminate my verbal contract. She stated that she would send me an invoice and terminate the contract. I clarified with her I was not agreeing to to paying the invoice.
Desired outcome: cancelation of the contract and nothing owed for services not performed and for penalties for terminating contract I had not signed and did not agree to the terms.
