I scheduled an echo cardiogram with Inova Fairfax Cardiac Diagnostic Services several months ago. This test is very important because I have suffered two strokes, a cardiac arrest, a pulmonary embolism, and have advanced heart failure.

But this company didn't even bother to send me a reminder either with a phone call, text message, email, etc. Rather, they called me only after the time for the appointment had passed.

A person named Gabby told me that it is the policy of Fairfax Cardiac Diagnostic Services to not notify the patients before their appointments and instead, to wait until the appointment has been missed before calling the patient.

This company has this policy because it prefers to bill insurance companies for missed appointments rather than to bill for work that is actually performed. That is, it wants to get paid without doing any work.

Every other doctor, dentist, etc. of mine sends a reminder before an appointment as a common courtesy.

To make matters worse still, Gabby also told me that she didn't know who her supervisor was, and who is in charge of the office.

Desired outcome: I would like the AMA to reprimand this company for its failure to give reminder appointments.
