Indian Embassy San Francisco review: Information help

I have called and emailed to no avail. When I called today, a long message to call VFS who will only speak to me if I give a credit card number. Then I will be charged over $2.00 a minute to speak to an agent. This is a scam! I'm just trying to find out how to get a visa since my husband is not an Indian national. I want to be able to go home and wait for his immigration. We've been unable to be together since Covid. It's heartbreaking literally. There is no one to speak to. This is unacceptable for an embassy to send you to a third party and charge by the minute to speak with someone.
